Good luck to him. Got so much unneccesary stick, but was part of a Bristol Rovers promotion team and probably has one of the best clean sheet records of any Rovers Keeper.

That's a cracking signing for Hereford.
I really liked Puddy in his time here.
The only problem was his height, he didn't fill you with confidence. However, his ability as a goalkeeper made up for that.
Good luck Will, hope you make it back into the league with Hereford. Great club

However, his ability as a goalkeeper made up for that. Good luck Will, hope you make it back into the league with Hereford. Great club Puddy had one spell where he was reasonably competent. The problem is that from the last few games of the conference season to when he left the club you always felt there was a mistake in him, and often there was. Confidence is a massive thing with keepers and if he can hit the ground running at Hereford he could do well there.

Has anyone got any footage from the Playoff Final where he effectively kept us in it with his great tackle / foul where he probably could've easily got sent off. All the highlights stuff on Youtube that i could find doesnt include it. I only seen it on the day as by then i was probably about 6 pints in.

Good luck to him My lasting memory of him is when be could and maybe should have been sent off in Conference Playoff Final at Wembley Red card offense is: Denying the opposing team a goal or an obvious goalscoring opportunity by deliberately handling the ball.
The player wasn't shooting when Puddy handles the ball, it was a cross towards an area which contained both attacking and defending players. It was not obvious that the attacking team would almost certainly score a goal from the cross. Similar to a defender taking out an attacking player with defenders covering.
Yellow card, correct decision.

Oh well it’s all water under the bridge now. The scary thing is if that would have been a red I reckon we would still be in the national league now! A sobering thought.

Makes me shiver even now! All that mattered that day was the result. Don’t care how unlucky, lucky, whatever. All about the result which we won. UTG!

The bigger problem is apparently that day the ref told a Grimsby player that he didn't send Puddy off because of the occasion...

The bigger problem is apparently that day the ref told a Grimsby player that he didn't send Puddy off because of the occasion... And the fact he had a grand on rovers to win

The bigger problem is apparently that day the ref told a Grimsby player that he didn't send Puddy off because of the occasion... So he says....won’t say ref didn’t say that but honestly would a ref say that knowing it would be repeated? He might have said something along those lines but... Anyway long gone now and the important thing was we won, all about the result, nothing else mattered. UTG!

More to the point on the OP well done to Will P. Good keeper who played an important part on our two promotions. Good guy always willing to speak at away grounds. Hope he goes on to have a great few years, he deserves it. And, unlikely I know, but if he ever came back in a competitive match I would expect him to get a great reception because all the players from those two promotion years are special imo. UTG!

Underrated. Had an excellent clean sheet record, think it was 17 in 32. Only downfall of him is his height. Best of luck Pudds.
