Did anyone else find this interview really awkward? Did his girlfriend just split up with him? Was he being held at gunpoint?! Aye. We've al bin there pal. My las girlfriend was concerned about me suffering from erectile dysfunction. We both had different ideas as ta what th problem was: Th cheeky cow bought me some Viagra, An I bought her a treadmill !

Seems like he wanted to say 'water poor planning to have a job like this done, without a head groundsman in situ, to oversee the project'. Let's hope the right people are in place if we ever start to replace the stands.

Obviously the company that have done a poor job are at fault but the club is to blame as well.

Interesting interview and I'm glad the club provided us with an insight into this debacle. Clearly the contractor made a big cock up of this, and I would hope we would either get a full or substantial refund, or that they "make good" at their cost. However, there does seem some fault should lie with the club for not ensuring that the contractor was managed during the re-lay. Easy to say in hindsight though I suppose, when a six figure sum was being dished out.

Lots of innuendos on this thread.
Do we know who the contractor was and if they had ever laid a professional football pitch before?

Sounds like the groundsman certainly knows his onions , told me he's gonna plant potatoes behind the goals cause they love sandy soil.

I guess we wont be using them for The Colony In yesterday's Independent Steve Hamer tells Richard Latham that : "We are going to resolve the position with the contractors used and then I am very hopeful we will engage with a different firm, who are developing our training ground pitches. They are going to be on site for four or five months with the training ground, building three or four pitches there that are acceptable to professional teams. I would like to think we can spin them off to come to the Memorial Stadium and rectify the problems there." 'I am very hopeful..............' 'I would like to think............' !! Think you may have concentrated on the wrong parts here. The fact that a company has been employed to prepare 3-4 pitches at the colony and will be at the colony for 4-5 months and THEN be moved over to the Mem pitch. Suggesting that things are happening at the Colony ,they will only put pitches in spots not earmarked for buildings . So the buildings footprints at least have been decided and planned for. Positive news about the Colony.

Poor bloke.
When he had the interview before the "improvements" it was probably looking pristine.
Mow it twice a week. Down the pub. Job done.
Oops.
