Partington got turned inside out several times by the little winger today, but he isn't a fullback anyway. But will become one of our best players. Bola seems to have drifted somewhat. He's ok but his distribution can be poor. He also took ages to get back in position after attacking down the wing. Problems arise when two many are played out of position. Not to mention Lines who contributes nothing. But quite rightly Gaffney was taken off today. One of his poorest games today I felt. But the others really came to the fore today. Sercombe really is a class act. Had to laugh with Mensa. He went mental when the third goal went in. There will be no shortage of banter with him in the changing room. ....& there was me thinking Lines & Gaffney we’re excellent today.

Yes - on today’s showing I would take Harrison & Gaffney over their two front men Taylor and Wyke who I thought did very little all game and didn’t work anywhere near as hard as our two lads!

Most players played well today. I thought Bola got better and better as the game went on as did Sinclair who has been excellent in the last two home games. For all Leadbitters pace he lacks the class of Partington.IMO What "class" he grew into the game yesterday but I'd take Leads attacking ability over Parts. Broadbent had a superb game although Bradford's No 10 was even worse than our Nichols yesterday. If I was DC I'd be tempted to send Sweeney back and spent his wages elsewhere, assuming he's costing a decent salary. GI criticising Lines after a thumping 3-1 win just sums his views up really on CL. Although agree with him about Bola struggling to get back to defend for all Brown's faults he'd always get back. Just a pity Nichols remains so light weight.

What? I know it’s about opinions but that just bonkers! UTG! Gafney worked his socks off ,powered through them at times and was a real handful today. His final ball let him down more than normal but it was a 6 out of 10 performance nothing more nothing less I think. I can agree with that, it was the other I couldn’t! Him and Ellis moved their defence all over and sometimes he had two men on him as Tilly said. Created a lot I’d space for others. Whatever, he played his part in very good win. UTG!

Leads has no assists and no goals so that suggests that his attacking ability is a myth. I prefer defenders to be able to defend first and foremost. Leads gets caught out of position constantly. I think some people are forgetting how poor he was against the same winger last time we played Bradford.

Spot on about Leads. He also struggles to judge the flight of high balls so loses headers to smaller opponents. Needs to be physically stronger in the tackle.

Topper/gasinsider, It's all about opinions which is the joy of being a football supporter. For me I prefer a full back who gets his defending right first and then attacking secondary. I would say whilst Leadbitter attacks more often his final ball is poor most of the time whereas Partington puts in more good balls. The winger yesterday was a very good winger and whilst he did some great weaving runs overall I thought Partington did a good job on him and held him up well. For me Leadbitter is a bit "Bambi on ice". DC can't just send Sweeney back to save wages as he is on a season loan!! As regards Bola I found the "Brown always gets back" quote from somebody quite amusing as that i would say was Browns main fault!! For me Bola closes down a player far better than Brown and has an extra yard of pace and as for Chris Lines I would say that he did the job he is asked to do by DC well yesterday. At the end of the day as I always say the only opinion that really matters is DC and we all have our own opinions on both individuals and Team performances to which we ,as supporters are entitled and as they are individual views as such we are all right!!

I still prefer brown to Bolla personally.. I wouldn’t leave a fit Leadbitter out either tbh. Broadbent is looking like the key man in the middle tho That`s how I see it. Partington looks a decent player, but not a right back. When fit: Brown Broadbent Lockyer Leadbitter.

I must be the only one who thinks Leads is crap. His dribbling is completely out of control, he runs like bambi on ice with his little skinny legs.

I dont think there is much to choose between our full backs though i do believe leadbitter creates panic and teams often kick him or put 2 players on him so i would always want to see him play when fit. I thought partington struggled against the winger defensively yesterday especially in the 1st half but used the ball very well in possession.

DC said in his post match interview that he changed formation to 4-4-2 when making the subs so I guess he thought he could afford to give Nichols a run out. Personally I would have kept Gaffney on as although he wasn't at his best he was holding the ball up well and Gaffney not at his best is better than Nichols at the moment. Nichols confidence looks shot to pieces right now, I don't think it would do him any harm to be loaned out for the rest of the season tbh but I don't see that happening.

Bola may have an extra yard of pace than Brown but I was pretty disgusted at his lack of desire to even get out of second gear to track back yesterday. This happened a few times and his distribution (for a premier league product) was very poor in the first half. Brown may have his faults but I've never had any doubt about his commitment. I was hoping for a lot more when Bola arrived but have been disappointed. I'd definitely stick with Browner for the rest of the season

Lines had a decent game today. Very much so and the crowd sang "Chrissy Lines he's one of our own..." Don't think that would have happened if he'd contributed nothing. Perhaps the penalty had something to do with it. The football league paper paper has the two lowest marks for Lines and Gaffney, so that reassures me somewhat.

DC subbed off Gaffers at 1-1 when I'd have taken a point but we won 3-1 and EH almost made it 4-1, perhaps Nichols is stretching the defence or something as we also looked better last week when he replaced EH. Plus Nichols nudged the defender off the ball leading to EH getting his pen.

I think some people are forgetting how poor he was against the same winger last time we played Bradford. The same winger "won" a pen and was clean though on goal at 1-0 yesterday. As far as no "goals" i can't imagine Parts is now going to go on goal scoring run! I've no idea why DC's never pushed Leads into the RW slot as I'm sure he'd offer more than Moore as in the wing role then we wouldn't have to worry about him being caught out of position.

Topper, Mainly because Leadbitter makes very few good crosses. For all his faults in his last game Moore against West Ham put in a very good cross for Nicholls to head in.I am not suggesting Moore should have a place in the team although he may be worth giving a go on the right.A good winger is always going to beat his man a few times in the game and get some crosses in but overall i thought Partington and Bola did a good sound job.

I’m not suggesting for one minute that Parts is going to be a regular goal scorer but he has seven assists from his crosses already this season. Not bad for someone with no pace or attacking ability.

Interesting thread with such a variety of opinions on players' merits. I'll just say this. I haven't been prouder of a squad of players since we won the league in 1990. The way they continue to strive to eke that little bit more out of themselves is outstanding. I like the natural evolution that has happened in the squad year on year.
The only downside is that we're getting bugger all for our star players when they go, for instance even 27 years later we got comfortably less for Bodin and Taylor than we got for Martyn and Penrice, and that is making the progression we all yearn for doubly harder to achieve.
