There was a game at the Mem a few years back. David Pipe was substituted at half time, and about five minutes into the second half, he suddenly appeared on the DriBuild terrace just in front of the pie hut, still in his football gear, and had a good chat with the fans. Bet they all legged it when he emerged from the bar with a bottle of wine. Sad waste of his career. I know nothing about Pipe apart from that he did an incredibly stupid and dangerous thing when extremely drunk and was deservedly Punished for it. That aside, it's impressive that he has extended his career as long as he has at a decent level.

You put your (right leg) in, You put your (right leg) out; You put your (right leg) in, And you shake it all about. You do the hokey pokey, And you turn yourself around. That's what it's all about!

Accuracy is as cheap as inaccuracy. You wouldn't be recommending a striker to play in goal, would you?

Can't remember what year it was but early 80's playing Brighton at eastville fog came in so bad you could only see a few yards on to the pitch but the game carried on we drew in the end 2-2

Sometimes it’s not seen for over a 100 years or more!

Surprised nobody has mentioned the George Parris' farce at Brightons Goldstone Ground. I think Andy Collett was the embarrassed keeper that day, but should never have stood anyway as Parris had left and re-entered the pitch!

It was a strange one. Still don't know if the goal should have stood as shouldn't he have needed thd refs permission to come back on the pitch.

So you did, sorry must have missed that at the bottom of the post.
All keepers should be checking behind them before rolling a ball in front on them, I bet AC learned a lot that day!

I don't think Newport fans think he's wasted his career, although they are apparently getting p*ssed off at him getting MoM every game 😱

Brighton at the goldstone. Boxing day 1990. Very stormy day. Eventually arrived after incident with tree going through coach window. Game should not have been played as it was a swimming pool. Vaughan Jones knew launching every ball was best tactic. Tony Pounder - correct me if wrong winger - spending more time sliding into advertising hoardings than being on pitch. Won 1-0. Awful game but entertaining. Trying to think of more recent game at mem when goal bound carrier bag got some cheers

I remember a game at the mem about 12 yrs ago when a Rovers player tried to take a quick free kick and blasted the ball into the refs plums from about two yards away. Needless to say ref couldn't carry on and had to be replaced. Still makes me wince now.
