He had one year left of his contract in the summer, and then we extended it, so unless we extended it for a few days, he can't be out of contract next summer. I believe he was out of contract in the summer but was one of the last players to except an undisclosed new contract. Fair enough but he signed a new contract in the summer of 2016, too. I'd honestly be surprised if he keeps signing one year contracts every summer.

Got slated on here the other day when I said he was worth a million, but he is class and will go a lot further up the pyramid, sounded really grounded on 20 pence, we love you Ellis.

He's been a slow burner, but always had the talent. £1 million is nothing to a Championship club looking for a player who is young and at the top of his form. So yes, I'd say he's worth that. Keep it quiet though.

Although he scored I thought Gaffney was pretty average again today, personally i’d Like better than him and Nichols to partner Ellis next season

Ellis seems to stay on his feet more now - always used to be falling on his arse at the slightest touch - now other teams complain about him barging into their defenders. DIfferent player this season. Remember when he went on loan to Hartlepool?

Ellis is probably my player of the year so far.
He’s matured so much since last season and finally looks fully focused. He’s learned to bully the defenders more than he used to and be a real physical presence.
Top notch work rate and leads the line well. I’ve noticed that he seems to win a ridiculous amount of headers when he’s back defending set pieces too and I’m sure DC values that ability to be dominant in both boxes.
Keep it up Ellis!

For the first half last Saturday saw from Ellis and Rory the best I'd seen them play together and did everything they needed to do back to front and through the channels. Ellis seamed to get a kick in the ass when he was shipped to Hartlepool on loan to try and get back in the side here.

Great thread about Ellis on Viking chat the Doncaster forum. A few not happy about him but the vast majority saying he was MOM by a country mile. They were very impressed by our Ellis. No doubt someone more able than me can post a link. www.drfc-vsc.co.uk/index.php?topic=265057.0 I like how some also thought gaffney was good. Great pairing and maybe we under rate them both a little at times! UTG!

About time we sung their songs a little louder again isn’t it lads? I mean it takes quite a lot to get personalised songs from us lot and they both have one!
Nananananananana Ellis Harrison! Harrison! Ellis Harrison!
Oh Rory gaffney! You are the love of my life! Oh Rory gaffney! I’d let you shag my wife! Oh Rory gaffney! I want ginger hair too!

The real concern is the gulf between those two to Nichols and Telford. Odd as well we don't now seem to be missing a winger any more!

I'd honestly be surprised if he keeps signing one year contracts every summer. Why, not sure he warranted anything better the last two summers, the majority on here wouldn't have even offered a year in the summer, and would have shown him the door when he missed that sitter early on in the season V Peterborough?

DIfferent player this season. Remember when he went on loan to Hartlepool? The falling over thing was the most frustrating thing about his game. He has now cut it out, and improved so much in other areas, would be a big big loss if he goes.

Anyone have an opinion about Ellis' challenge on Alcock they keep going on about? The incident was some way over the half way line towards our penalty area, but the challenge didn't look worse than anything else that happened during the game. what was noticeable was the extreme reaction of their Ferguson-trained players, surrounding and screaming at the ref trying to get Ellis in trouble. When you consider the fouls and snide niggling that Lady Garden Marquis was getting away with it, was farcical, but we all saw what a team of cheating, whining, play-acting time wasting Arseholes they were at the Mem. Whilst the refs back was turned one of their players was in Ellis' face, screaming at him. Ellis just shoved him away and walked off. Cue more outrage from their players, complaining to the ref, screaming at the Lino, who had a clear view and obviously saw nothing wrong. It was so sweet when Ellis powered from his own half to bury the ball in the net, I thought the roof was going to come off our stand!

Credit to Ellis he has come on leaps and bounds. If Scunny are asking 1 million for Hakeeb Adelakun with all his baggage, how much is Ellis worth??

Hahah they’re a bitter lot aren’t they Just read it, what a bunch of bad losers (lady gardens) apart from one of them! They seem to have conveniently forgot what a bell Marquis is? So nice to get 3 points against them and their crap daddy’s boy manager.

More on Ellis from Donny forum:
"The theory that if Buts and Wright were playing he would have done nothing is nonsense for me. He could have been playing against Ferdinand and Terry and i would have thought the same. It was the process of why he did what he did that I liked more than any result of what he did. He did some very intelligent things. Numerous times he made sure he was left one on one with the defender he knew he would beat for pace and power, eventually getting his reward. It nearly paid off twice before. His movement from set pieces was excellent. He kept making the run to drag our left and right centre halves out so they could get a midfield runner, usually the caveman look a like, into the space created. He was a clever player, we will see where he is in two years."
The bit about our caveman midfielder did make me chuckle, but the observations about Ellis and his footballing intelligence are very interesting.
Ellis has certainly developed his own trademark style and tactics imo. At the last home game I saw him on the right hand side of the pitch when Smith was about to take a goal kick and he subtly signalled to Smith by pointing to the other side, Smith then hoofed the ball as directed and Ellis set off like a rocket running straight in to get his head under the ball and direct it into the middle for one of our midfielders to get onto. If you are one of the opposition's defenders and you keep getting Ellis rushing in towards you at a rate of knots like he does it must ruffle your feathers somewhat.
Keep up the good work Ellis!
