Yeah, I'm teasing a little.
On the face of if, not an exciting signing and not in one of the more obvious positions either.
We are still desperate for at least one more wide player so maybe any player is going to be a letdown until that hole is filled.

If there's any truth in this rumour it's a strange signing if DC does intend playing him at LB as most of our problems this season seem to be down our right side, where neither Leads or Parts have really impressed defensively, with Parts being subbed again on Saturday as he wasn't up to the task of marking the right winger.

Maybe, and just guessing, he thinks he can sit him in front of a back four, like he's tried to do with Parts?

Doesn't necessarily matter. You can lose motivation whether you are a pro or not. Speaks the voice of a man who has first-hand experience with pros who have suddenly lost motivation. If you count the amount of players I have seen fall down the leagues at the end of their career and lose motivation then yes.

On the subject of Parts, what do we make of him? I rate him but he gets turned way too easily at RB at times. I've always thought his stature is unusual for a RB.

Just seen Wael & DC at the Academy game - they are calling off the signing of Tony Craig because quite a few on this forum don’t think he is what we need, that’s despite in November/December everyone saying we needed an experienced organiser in defence & a defensive coach.

Can’t we just sign Wendy Craig? In fact it’s giving me butterflies just thinking about it.

With the caveat that I haven't seen as many games as most in here, from what I have seen I think he's the type who will get better and better with experience at this level. He has shown good attributes in terms of crossing, ability to pick a pass, attitude. Like Broadbent, he's not the finished article but I think he has a lot going for him. Don't forget he was also playing with an injury problem through the first half of the season.

His crossing is very good, can spot a pass, attitude etc. I just get worried how easily he can be turned at RB. It was extremely noticeable vs Bradford and again last week by the sounds of it. Luckily was have come through those games so it hasn't been highlighted too much. I'm sure it will at one stage though. I'm not sure if it's something he can really improve to be honestly or if he is just slow at turning etc.

Possibly this could be overcome over the summer and with a full pre-season? In your opinion is he better as a DCM or a right back?

A year on and it’s difficult to say where to play Joe P. But as others have said he’s good on the ball, can pass well and can deliver into the box. Although played at RB for Eastleigh when signed he’s coming across far better players in League 1 in that position. I like him for his attacking threat but it’s a bit of a dilemma for DC knowing where or if to play him. I think CB might have been his place but we’re fairly well off there esp with Tom B and Rollin coming through. Stuck in front of the back four as part of midfield would be going back to his time early on at Bournemouth and I’m not sure we’d do that. UTG!

I would like to see Parts in a back 5, with Leadbitter rwb, and Parts rcb That imo would be a better line up.
