Just watched DC’s preview on YouTube which was followed by Paul Hurst doing the same. He said it was difficult to prepare his team to play against us because of DC’s willingness to change tactics, so that just goes to show how savvy our manager is in the war of small margins. I have a feeling that this one will start off tight, after the last encounter, then as soon as the first one goes in it will turn into a goal fest with the Gas just edging in front at the death. 🤞

I’m just praying we don’t go 1-0 down again! Surely we can’t keep winning from behind. we can do this today tho! Utg!

If we get anything from today it will be a good result. I'm going for a 1-1.

Reading the home fans match theads of their games against Shrewsbury, it seems Paul Hurst has got them playing the Darren Ferguson way.
Shrewsbury are time and again accused of blatant time wasting, play acting over the slightest physical contact then surrounding the ref and hysterically demanding fee kicks, and pulling and holding their opponents throughout the game.
I hope their conduct has been noted by the referee committee and that we get a strong set of officials who won't stand for any of heir nonsense.
A booking for he first blatant time waste, hollering in the face and shirt pull should sort it.
And yes, even if it's us. I want to see flowing football, not 90 mins of gamesmanship.

We need to be at it from the start. In the corresponding game up there they were in our faces from the start and by closing us down quickly they were able to counter attack us at every opportunity and race into an unassailable lead by half time. If we can compete physically with them I feel the home crowd will be tge decisive factor.

A guess on the scoring. 8th minute Shrews go 1 up after a good start by Rovers gets sucker punched. Shrews dominate for a further 10 minutes and fail to take opportunities. Game becomes more even with some good play from both sides before Rovers equalise. 33rd minute Rovers goal. Rovers get on top for rest of half and take the lead just before half time. 42nd minute Rovers goal. HALF TIME: ROVERS 2 SHREWS 1 second half Rovers on the back foot and Shrews come close to scoring. Against the run of play Rovers score 66th minute Rovers goal. Shrews lose confidence and over try leading to failed attacks and allow Rovers to dominate the good chances. 70th minute Rovers goal. Rovers in full flow now. 78th minute Rovers goal. game flattens out a bit. full time approaches and Rovers have a late flurry. 89th minute Rovers goal. 104th minute Rovers goal. Late consolation goal for shrews. 106th minute Shrews goal. FULL TIME: ROVERS 7 SHREWS 2 I'm wondering where 16 minutes of injury time came from? From all the crazy goal celebrations obviously...Mensah running along the top of the crossbar was a sight to see and the human pyramid in the centre circle was impressive. Though I may have got me numb bers mixed up and should be 94 and 96. Twas all the excitement of all those goals .You cant blame me one was a back heel by Ollie Clarke from the halfway line into the top corner after all.

Good Grief............
A predominantly happy series of threads almost devoid of the sniping of recent weeks, people buzzing with excitement and expectancy about our three new signings and talk of the championship next year..........
Have I logged onto the wrong forum!!!!!!!!!!

I must say they were nothing like that at Shrewsbury - well -organised, good footballers and plenty of energy in their play. Should be a very good match.
