So you can't back any of this up then? Answering a question with a question, poor form.... Ok so ignoring the abject hypocrisy in the fact you just make stuff up and claim it as fact without a shred of evidence and then challenge people to "back up" a thought they have offered up for consideration. If you can show me where I've claimed as fact that players base their decisions on what gets said on forums I'll have to go away and think about if I can prove that. If on the other hand you learn to read and are then able to go back and actually absorb what I said, I won't bother.

You were triggered pretty hard by that comment, it's amusing

Good to know your motivation in using this forum is to try wind up fellow gasheads rather than constructively discuss the club you claim to support.

Also the speed in which you knock up these quote posts is quite something, if life wasn't too short I'd be impressed. It's like you keep files on who said what...
.... O_-

Sorry you said promises. I can't see where you've repeated those promises in this post. For example when was a plan B promised? Just point me to a link to an interview or whatever when they were made. I think that's part of the problem. A lot of us made assumptions about what we could become and are watered off because we feel betrayed when in fact we just feel a bit stupid for having thought/dreamed/hoped for much more than we have seen so far even though it was never promised. While not directly promising anything it's easy to see how sometimes the club haven't always helped lower or dampen those misplaced expectations. (Top 6 budget, landing lights etc) worth watching these again

Well, going back to the OP's original statement "So we're OK then".
On the pitch, yes. I'm pleased with the three signings. A promising winger, an experienced older pro in defence and an attacking midfielder. All for free. Good work, DC.
Off the pitch, no, not really. No new stadium, no hint (months on) of plans for a redeveloped Mem, and confirmation that the training facility will be scaled down and delayed.
So overall, I would say we are just fine for this season, but I have seen nothing from the owners yet to make me say that we will be ok.
If they tell us something of their plans, then I can judge. If they keep quiet, then I don't know how anyone can say everything is fine.

A good January in the transfer market. The mystery player who at first pulled out being revealed as the player eventually signed (KB) The Otis Khan rumour turned out true and Yeovil accepted the bid . Shame the player got persuaded to stay ,maybe believes he can do better ? Still why have a player from a failing league two club when you can sign the winger who was a star of the promotion winning team of Portsmouth.
Im guessing with a Millwall and Pompey player coming in there was either plenty left in the wages pot or that BB was on a big wage at Rovers. Or maybe the owners donated funds (?)
On the subject of owners and funds. If owners are at a developing club who says they have to spend lots of money straight away ? what if they wish to spend the money when it is at its most effective ? which may be in three years time or ten .
A traditional Rovers board would have us fans raising the money to pay for it ourselves and then have smiley pictures of themselves stood next to the shiny stand as if it was something they had paid for.
Is everything fine ? on the grand scheme of things ,probably. Midtable league one having made 3 good perm signings in January. Not bad for a team that was heading the wrong way down the leagues not so long ago.

Overall the 3 we brought in on paper seem like good business. Albeit on the cheap - no offence intended. Maybe we will evolve more more on the pitch in the summer..DC is doing th business and if we finish mid table then that is okay with me, I don't expect DC to over achieve. Off the pitch we have had no real good news in a long time and off the pitch projects are ones we want to see develop. I would definitely like it to be communicated what is going on. I can see a tease of a message be put out there around about the same time season tickets can be renewed.

I dont agree that the signings were "on the cheap" it dosnt stand up to reasonable scrutiny imo.

While not directly promising anything it's easy to see how sometimes the club haven't always helped lower or dampen those misplaced expectations. (Top 6 budget, landing lights etc) That's the thing with assumptions. Most of the time they're absolute bullshit. The Al-Qadis never came in boasting of their wealth, the sh** rags started claiming they were all billionaire's, then idiot supporters made up fairy tales of us now being the 6th richest club in the World FFS! The Al-Qadi's never made any bold claims or ludicrous predictions of Premier League Football by 2020 or European Football in 5 years etc. The Al-Qadi's haven't once said they're going to throw cash around. Its not their fault that supporters assumed different things is it? As I see it, we have improved since they've arrived, we are starting to see a little infrastructure being put in place with a decent Development Squad, which we never had before, we've kept hold of a superb young manager, we've made more money from transfers than we have for Donkeys years, DC has unearthed gems that cost nothing and turned them into good players, a highest League position for near on 20 years, arguably the best football we're playing for the same period, our highest average attendance for the same period, and a group of players who I believe actually care about the club which we haven't had for the same period. Yes, the Stadium issue is a concern which needs to be sorted, but I believe in The Al-Qadi's and I really don't see why there is so much fury among certain Gasheads at the moment. Top post.

Hello fellow Gasheads, new here, always read the board and thought it about time I add my twopenneth, some good sensible, level headed posts on here today, not all but most. A decent window in my view, added 3 players for a fraction of the cost of BB, two of those with Championship experience I believe with Doncaster & Millwall and a promising youngster originally from Premiership Watford, what's not to be positive about our shopping level appears to be improving and all wanted to come to the Gas due to DC. Not sure Bennett or Craig would have come that cheap! both had contracts and both negotiated releases from them to join us, so would expect both received a decent signing on fee from us and wages towards the top end of our scale if not top, so the sale off BB has increased our squad numbers marginally and our overall squad quality hopefully. UTG Evolution on the Advance and in DC I trust.
