So (as everyone says these days) how many of our signings are likely to start tomorrow? I'm sure they didn't come here to sit on the bench. Also, who then gets pushed off the bench and becomes more of a fringe squad member? I'd like to see Bennett start. We're at home and shouldn't let Shrewsbury come at us. A midfield of Bennett, Lines, Clarke and Sercombe should push them back. If Lockyer is fit I'd keep him and Broadbent together. I wouldn't be surprised to see Brown back in. Craig and Mensah probably on the bench then. If DC keeps having a GK on the bench then Moore could lose out, and possibly the Stoke pair. He's going to persist with Nicholls if only because he's cost us a wedge. So I see 1 starting, with the other 2 likely to appear early second half!

it might be too early to start KB or TC ~ be nice to see them get in at some point to welcome them though

More to the point who can we drop after that last performance

Totally depends on the formation, can see Craig starting but can only see Mensah or Bennett getting the nod if we change to a 433.

There is no chance of DC ever going into a game with no keeper on the bench, certainly not when Smith and Slocombe are both fit and available. I think Craig will start, most probably at left back rather than centre back. Bennett and Mensah will be on the bench but if things don't go to plan v The Shrews than could both come on in a double substitution with a switch to a conventional 4-4-2 as opposed to the current diamond

Start none of them. Don't change a winning team.

This is a bloody good question. I would say none. Only because we played well and you shouldnt change a winning team. However, I think TC will be in as Locks may then be able to get a longer rest and reduce the chance of his injury re-occuring. Who he drops out is anyones guess - I would guess Broadbent becuase however well he is playing he is still young and inexperienced and DC seems to have managed him well this year by giving him game time in spells.
BM and KB will, i'm sure get a run out.
but i'm propably wrong as DC is impossible to predict (except the striker subs on 60ish minutes.) :-)

Wouldn't shock me if Craig started at LB to try and tighten up the defence against a team that's brought in a lot of attacking talent. That being said it will of course come down to what formation Clarke decides to play. Have we any idea on how far the likes of Leadbitter are from returning?

Darrell tends to like to wean new players in. Only Mensah can I imagine coming in.

I think Craig will be straight in with Broadbent coming out, not something I particularly want to see happen.. just what I think will. And I wouldn’t be surprised if Bennett starts since he can go into a 442 or the 433 formation, but I think it’s most likely Bennet and Mensah take the bench

I reckon Craig will start and the other two will be subs.
Can see us going with the diamond and bringing on Bennett and/or Mensah if we want to change it up.

People seriously suggesting dropping Broadbent for Craig instead of Sweeney?? The form of Broadbent recently has been one of the main reasons for our results improving so much.

My opinion is, having went to Donny last week, I thought there midfield at times, totally passed there way around us. We still haven't signed a midfielder, who really breaks things up. So it's hard to change the side that won last week. It's nice that we have brought two players in, who like to beat players. I'd put TC left back, only because I don't think neither player has nailed that spot down.

DC suggested before the last home game he picked TB as he was the better footballer I assume the same will apply tomorrow as I doubt Shrewsbury are a physical side, so then it's down to whether TL is fit or not, and also whether DC is brave enough to throw TC straight into the starting line up after just the one(?) training session. Not really sure where he sees Bennett playing as he talked yesterday about him not just being a winger.

Did the Beard play against Donny? Wouldn’t leave him out.

Sweeney should be the one dropped.

Craig will be straight in, the others integrated slowly maybe a 10 minute appearance but Pep Clarkiola might surprise us😂

Sweeney should be the one dropped. I'm in two minds to be honest. Broadbent has been playing a lot better recently but was awful against AFC Wimbledon and cost us the game against Oxford, not going to be too harsh on him though as it is his first full year of professional football and he does have a lot of potential. Sweeney was very poor in the first half of the season but has been getting back to his best lately. I'd probably go with Broadbent just because he is in good form and he is ours but it's nice for DC to be having that kind of Selection headache and with us maybe switching to a back three due to the arrival of craig, there will opportunities for them both to impress.

Broadbent has great technical ability. I wonder if he'd be able to learn the defensive midfielder role?
In response to the op - 1. I think Craig will start at LB as his experience should help him to slot straight in.
I believe Mensah is a work in progress. The few minutes I saw of him against Bradford, he looked a bit raw.
I reckon Bennett will need more time in training to understand what DC wants of him. We'll probably see him come on last 10 if we're chasing the game.
