I wonder if you are being a little harsh here AF? There are a couple of good questions here: 1. Does DC select the players for the development squad? 2. How did Ghassan do in the confederations cup as a full international for Jordan? 3. If a development squad player isn't on loan, is there anything to report about them? Jordan weren't in the Confederations Cup and Ghassan has only appeared up to U19 level. I stand corrected: Yep, under 19s and Asian Confederations Championship www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/bristol-rovers-youngster-ghassan-abu-563703.ampSentiment is still the same. Boy must have some talent.....? I respect your view pirate, do you have any other details?

... i can't imagine DC or Hargreaves having much chance to take a look at him before the bizarre contract signing in Waels office... Hassan had two trials for at Rovers in the year leading up too his signing, so presumably DC had a look, and Hargreaves had a good look.

I haven't seen him play, so can't comment on his ability.

Wish i'd known that before I set about making all those assumptions. Although I can't see that stated anywhere clearly hence my ignorance. Apologies.

The defender was offered a trial with Rovers' U18's back in September and after a successful spell was asked to come back for a second trial in February, in which he also played for Rovers U18 side.

That's reassuring, let's hope he kicks on.

Happy to talk about how he's getting on. You don't seem to know how he's getting on though, so you're just making stuff up. Seems a bit weird to talk about imaginary stuff based on guesses coz he's Jordanian. Why not talk about imaginary stuff like Olly Mehew only getting to play at BRFC coz of who his dad is, or some other youth team member being picked by his gran coz she's a tea lady? Usually, as fans, we lay off youth team, and development players, and don't start talking crap about them and casting aspersions on their abilities until they get in the first team. Woah. Maybe i didn't type that right apologies. I am interested in all levels of rovers teams. I was particularly interested in Ghassan whom was our first summer signing and a (little) big deal was made about the signing. I found it odd at the time as we had never seemingly signed a player in such a manner before. I have looked out for his progress a number of times with interest and have been seen that there's not been much game time for him. I mentioned that on this forum (my first post on this thread). Topper suggests it as a PR stunt, as if i was suggesting it, i go with this and make some more assumptions on this theme. You tell me off. she's a bit moody today

After coming on as a sub last week, I did notice that Menayese started for Swindon in their 1-0 win against Mansfield. Definitely a good sign that he's getting the chance to start games in the Football League even if it is due to injuries/suspensions.
