Just had a look at NTFC's fans forum. There is a 2 page discussion about Mr Enigma.
He's got them all foxed. Comments like "Where is the best place to play him"? "Build a team around him"? "What does he bring to the table"? etc etc.
Also the fans are saying their manager spent a long time chasing him and that he blew a considerable part of the budget to get him "Top earner at the club" etc etc.
It seems he ends up being a pain in the ar$e wherever he goes. No club really wants him after a fairly short time. I predict he will be non-league within a couple of seasons.

Undoubted quality, but there is something not quite right. He's not young anymore either. On ability alone, there is now way he should be on the bench at a League Two club but he is an enigma.

A mate of mine is a regular at the Cobblers and the Fans up there reckon he is really slow. Kaid is getting some Rave reviews as is D'Ath. JJ is a strange marmite type player. Kaid and Harrison played well together and I was sorry to see him released.

He was only on loan with us and when we were relegated we could not afford his wages to sign him permanently.

He is like the George Best of the lower leagues. Bestie wasted his talent with booze and women. JJOT seems to be wasting his through petulance, attitude and commitment. If you're going to waste a career, I'd go for the Georgie route. It's more fun.

Is this the same JJOT who was our top scorer and without who's goals we would have been relegated before easter. Fair enough he done himself no favours with what he was reported to have said to the Irish media although he said he was misquoted. He also acted like he was not impressed to be playing for a sh8t side. If we had survived it would have been down to his goals. So we have to stalk him for the rest of his career.

If we hadn't signed him we may well have been able to bring in a few players with what he was being paid and maybe they would've scored the goals and maybe just maybe kept us up. Far too overrated, arrogant and not a team player, this sh8t side as you put it is our's and he really couldn't be bothered with it, glad he's gone.

If you're going to waste a career, I'd go for the Georgie route. It's more fun. Bestie did quit early but still won two League titles and the European Cup and was European Footballer of the Year. Not entirely wasted then...

Maybe we could have signed other players instead who would have scored more, but that is just conjecture. JJOT was top goalscorer and that is fact. We had a sh*t side and that is borne out by our present position.

I don'r even know why we keep talking about this bloke. He's gone, he was poo in all aspects. Forget him!! I started this thread because I wanted other peoples' opinions on the man. I wondered if it was just with us that he became disinterested and disenchanted. Apparently not. I seem to remember the Colchester fans saying he had a poor attitude and he didn't amount to anything with Watford after a promising start. I thought he may have had trouble settling in Bristol because of his London connections and, as we all know, it takes at least 2 weeks to get to London from Bristol. But no, a quick visit to NTFC's site lists the same complaints, comments and failings. For the record I lay the blame for relegation squarely at John Wards door. He took his eye off the ball and for whatever reason his heart wasn't in it. He spent all the close season chasing the Enigma and left us with an unbalanced squad with forward only slightly quicker than Tectonic plates. I will always remember he walked through the family enclosure at half time in the Mansfield game and people were actually shaking his hand and congratulating him. unbelievable.
