Really feel this bloke is underrated.
Gives us another option going forward with his height and wins a lot of balls in the air. When we signed him, Cambridge fans were saying how slow he is but I think he is faster than they give him credit for. He can hold the ball up and has linked up really well with Taylor of late, I like the partnership. He's a hard worker and puts a good shift in. Thought he was one of our better players yesterday and he has been consistently good every game I have seen him play and yet when I look at others ratings they always seem lower for him than my rating for him.
Complete opposite of Harrold by the way who would not link up well with others and would give free kicks away whereas Cunnington is quite clever at winning free kicks.
Superb volley by the way. Keep it up Cunny, hope we can keep you in Jan as I feel you will be sadly missed if we can't and maybe then you will be appreciated more.

On this occasion I have to agree with you. I too like him, he holds the ball up well bringing others in to play, heads well and can score too. All of what harrold was not towards the end. I met him on hospitality and seems like a nice bloke. Hope he signs for us.

I've also been very impressed with how he's doing, he's that presence that we've been missing up top since Lambert went IMO, and I don't think he's that slow, he surprised me yesterday with a bit of pace on a couple occasions that I didn't expect, also the partnership with Taylor is looking good as well although Matty could do with gambling on the flick ons a little bit more often I think.
Really hope the loan signing until Jan is quickly followed up with us signing him ASAP.

I think that will come though and they are creating a really good understanding. Where does this leave Jamie White though? I thought he'd be our 20 goal striker but he can't get a look in currently. Hopefully he'll get a few cup games.

Will be like a new signing if he does come good though and a useful player to bring on if we are chasing a goal and need to throw on a striker.

Cunnington was just the sort of player we needed in this league. He's everything I hoped Brunt would be.

Agree totally with this. We could not have brought in a better player remembering where we are. As regards Taylor and Cunnington I was a bit surprised yesterday that he was brought off as would like to have seen Ellis being given a go up front with Cunnington for the last half hour but perhaps adams fitness was a little doubtful recently and DC is taking no chances.

I'm also a big fan of Cunnington. He's effective in the air, but also has shown some nice hold-up play with his feet.
Also, at Braintree, after being subbed and needing strapping, he took the time to talk to a young Rover's fan and his dad behind the dugout. The 4th official then pulled him away because he wasn't wearing a training bib over his training top.

He was great for us yesterday, scored a cracker and won loads of flick on's. I would love him to become a permanent signing. It can't be easy for him commuting from Milton Keynes.

One thing that is slightly worrying as regards to him signing permanently is that all the clubs he has played for haven't been too far from Milton Keynes so would he want to move to a club far away? Has he come here with the intention of signing here perm or is he just trying to make a name for himself and try and get back in the Cambridge side or look for a club nearer home?

the cunnington / Harrison substitution which is now happening regularly at some point after 60 mins seems to be working a treat.... cunnington can work hard knowing if he gets knackered then there is a replacement, and ellis knows he's gonna get a game.... everyone happy and decent tactics

Has he come here with the intention of signing here perm or is he just trying to make a name for himself and try and get back in the Cambridge side or look for a club nearer home? But you never know. It might be because he's never been anywhere else to live. Now he's seen Bristol he might like it. Is he commuting from Milton Keynes everyday. Four hours in a car? Surely one of the other players has a spare room he can have a couple of nights a week. Or he could sleep in Ellis's room while he's out night clubbing till dawn three nights a week. House prices might be the thing to put him off. But if he's already got a house he can rent that out, and rent in Bristol. It's not like he'll be moving half way around the world. I think it was the game last Tuesday. The commentators seemed to think he was making some good flick ons and passes, but the other players weren't up to his standard and so his passes were going to waste. I've just noticed in another thread Tilly's Thighs has a room available. Could someone let Adam know. It'll save time, petrol, and he won't be knackered after 60 minutes.

Underrated? I dunno mate I guess it depends who you talk to. Everyone I've spoken to thinks hes brilliant. Added so much to the team and is as has already been said what we hoped Brunt would be. Brunt is quality mind but it must be hard for him looking at getting a place back in the squad because you really cant justify dropping anyone at the moment unless you change formations. Even then, strikers draw tge short straw. Ah well, winning is winning and you know what? Id rather be winning in this league than failing in the last one.

I agree with much of the above, my concern is that we have signed Balanta & maybe once he is fit we will have to let someone else go & therefore the end of a shirt terms deal means it's Adam who departs. I know he's a different type of player, but we do have a few now who when fit will mean too many nit even making the bench.

He is turning out to be a very good signing. Holds the ball up very well, great in the air good work rate and showed on that weekend that he is more than capable of finishing with his feet as well.
Let's hope he can replicate his Cambridge goal scoring record for us and he could turn out to be one of the most complete strikers we have had in a long time.
