After leaving chosen pub any advice on how to blend in with home fans? 6 of us in enclosure nearest away end. We have come up with rolling on grass so we look like we're wearing green, carrying a jethro album and constantly voicing our admiration for sir Francis Drake! Probably best to not broadcast it, locals can read im told. No, that’s just a miff.

If you are in the seats closest to the away fans you will best blend in by shouting obscenities at your fellow gasheads and gesticulate that you want to fight with us until your arms want to fall off. Anything less than that and you might as well stand there in full pirate regalia! I think they call that area of the ground the Zoo corner!

Other things to say are: "That Neil Warnock is a lovely man" "Had a lovely time up the Hoe this morning" "Dam Exeter, they think they're gonna get promoted" "Look at all these grockells" Those will get you passed everyone.

I've never seen this as a derby. It's branded as a West Country derby perhaps to sell more tickets or maybe because for Plymouth, close games are few and far between but in reality for me its nothing more than a competitive rivalry between two similar size clubs. I suppose full away ends and two passionate fanbase's adds a bit of spice. Either way this Saturday's game is massive for both clubs and I am thoroughly looking forward to it. UTG

Can anyone recommend a decent/friendly pub in Plymouth? Try Totnes

UTG The perfect explanation. In terms of distance, it's the same as Cheltenham vs Exeter, and no-one would call that a derby. It's just the fans that make it derby-esque.

Wear a green and white hat, it’s St Patrick’s day after all. Don’t go totally local though....leave your sister at home and remember ....right shoe right foot, left shoe left foot. I’d hate to punch you in the face by mistake.
