Not forgetting our Tom and another of our former players Connor Roberts. I always rated Roberts actually, I can remember him being superb away at Northampton. Another player along with Mcburnie who deserved more of a chance.

Did we have a call up clause in deal I wonder? Must have dinars for every goal appearances and wales cap, surely.

I wonder if he would have been called up if he were still with Rovers?

Harrison's failure to be called up this time probably suggests he wouldn't?

Harrison's failure to be called up this time probably suggests he wouldn't? Bodins hardly set the Championship alight but suddenly gets a call up. If Harrison was with a Championship club or one of the L1 'big boys' then im sure his chances would multiply.

I would of thought it fairly obvious that the higher level of competition you play, the more chance you have of getting selected. Bodin has been performing more consistently over a longer period of time to Harrison, so even if Harrison ended up with a Championship club in the summer I suspect he would have to prove himself at that level before becoming a permanent fixture of the Welsh squad. It'll be the same for Sweeney and pretty much any young player wishing to make the grade in international football, fair enough to Bodin for furthering his prospects quite considerably.

Depends what position I guess, I mean Lockyer getting a call up tells me they don't have many top CB's, whereas they have better options at the other end which is why Harrison will find it harder

If he ever plays Preston will need to pay us a percentage add on, that was one of the deal add ons.

Conner Roberts has played two league games this season, so he has hardly been picked as he's been performing consistently at an higher level! Locks is the only Div 1 or lower player picked by Giggs, which just shows how hard it is to get a call up if you play outside the top two divisions. Although on a positive note at least Ellis won't miss the Peterborough game.

I can understand why Roberts was picked because he's got into the match day squad of a premier league squad on occasion so it is natural Giggs would want to have a look at him. Locks being the only L1 or lower player picked by giggs is credit to the hard work that Locks has been putting into to improve himself and get recognised in the national team setup. If Ellis was called up to the national team, we could of got the Peterborough game postponed as I presume Sweeney will get selected for the Irish U21's, who have got a couple of fixtures coming up.

McBurnie excellent, didn't see anything special about Roberts. Only played a handful of games so he didn't have time to make a lasting impression. He must have something about him though as Middlesbrough took a chance on him in the summer and he was named Yeovil player of the year before he joined us.
