We all know the Chimp talks bollocks, but why do 25 Gasheads have to retweet the sh**e, Do people actually enjoy making fellow supporters panic. Rant over

Rovers response from official website: what a funny day and age we live in when the club feels they have to put out an official statement about rumours. I actually feel sorry for the club. for once. I know most of us crave information, but equally this is the old 'tail waging the dog' situation isn't it. opens up a real can of worms. which rumours do they now decide to respond to? It's blatantly obvious that Sainsbury's do not wish to continue with the development. Rovers want them to and have even taken a High Court writ out. It seems obvious to me that this will have to end in a complicated legal settlement, which won't be something like Sainsbury's paying Rovers £20m NOT to buy the Mem. Both sides seem to be in complete denial of each other. common sense needed by all parties and all fans.

Talksport had a little piece on us today on the Colin Murray show - they were talking about finances in football, and they started talking about Rovers saying what a great oppurtunity it would be to a business man come in, get the club on the cheap, and turn us into a big club with a great tradition... he did say we were definitely moving to a new stadium... maybe it will perk the ears up of a few wealthy tycoons who can make things like the UWE more of a reality... although I am not blaming Nick Higgs for this balls-up up! Thoroughly at the feet of that tree hugging c0ck jockey and the like who put a 18 month delay on it... If it wasn't for those cretins we'd be well underway.

Sad to say, some people find it enjoyable to pump rumours that appear from sources that have little or no actual knowledge.
"Someone on Facebook says UWE is finished" or "I've just seen on Twatter Ellis is mis-behaving" Then retweet the crap or post it on Forums for fan's who actually care to worry about.
Their only real motive is so they can say, "Told you so - i posted it first!" if by some million to one chance there happens to be a shred of truth in it.
Sad tw@ts.

I agree but the club has been working on a plan b, isn't that right Mark, Bernard and Rich ?
The uwe / sainsburies project is at risk and we all just have to hope that we can still pull it off. Agree we are ripe for an investor if we get the stadium

Not sure how many wealthy tycoons listen to Talksport, but ....hey ho, good to hear how others perceive us.

Saw it on Twitter - seemed to originate from Keith the Chimp, so I took it as a wind up. What is the point of this guy? Why do people follow him? No point - he just likes to be a wind up merchant. I don't follow him, just picked it up via a re-tweet, sadly, I think that some of the younger element take his word as gospel.

Rovers response from official website: I agree with the club that there are only a couple of outstanding issues to resolve: 1) Are Sainsburys going to buy the Mem or not? 2) If not, how much compensation are they going to give us?
