Bristol Rovers paid out £62,353 in agent fees for the period February 1, 2017 to January 31, 2018.
The Football Association have today released figures which show that the Gas have one of the lowest fees in League One.
Rovers rank at 15th in the third tier in terms of money paid out to agents, with many clubs spending way in excess of six figures.
Last season Rovers spent £51,489 on agent fees, meaning a slight increase this year. But Rovers are still one of the financial lightweights in the division when you look at the money spent by some clubs.

Or at least that we’re a bit more savvy with our money and we make what we spend go a long way. Cue loads of posts about how crap Nichols has been.

Some surprises on that list with Southend, Northampton and Oxford paying over double what we paid out. It looks like any finish higher than 15th and DC will be overachieving. It looks like Wigan, Blackburn and Charlton are in a different league than the rest of Div 1.

How many times have we been stiffed by agents? Too many. Not paying the leaches has left us OK. Better than the likes of Oxford.

With the players Oxford have in their squad they should be doing a lot better, although they could do with a quality striker and another decent CB.

Not necessarily more savvy after all this office in london nonsense- we just water money up the wall in a different way to everyone else!

I'm not sure why there's such negativity about the 'office in london'....
Given we don't actually know what its purpose is. I very much doubt it's an unnecessary luxury....

Thought it was confirmed at the AGM DS wanted for meetings when they are in the country, although what else can we do with an office in London when we're based in Bristol!!

But Shrewsbury put a spanner in the works by showing how to spend wisely spending less than us and shows you Paul hurst is clearly the best league one manager...seems a nice bloke and fair play to him

This sort of subject really gets me going.
Agents fees paid from League 1 clubs totalled £3.5M. That is enough to run some clubs at this level for en entire year and, instead, it represents money that is taken out of the game!!!
Agents are operating on behalf of the Players and for the benefit of the Players - why don't the Players pay the bills and why is it expected that the Clubs will pay.

Unfortunately, Football Agents are a necessary evil, players are generally not too clever, particularly when it comes to negotiation, so wisely use an Agent to get them a perceived good deal. £62k in fees, to me seems high if the player you buy does not deliver, like Nicols, different opinion when considering Liam, who has been tremendous and was definitely money well spent.
