I think Broadbent is just the CH we need. We need a big 'un. Almost every team we play have a couple of beasts at the back. Yes, he will make mistakes, but then again, every player in Div 1 will make mistakes. That's why they're playing in Div 1 ! Not only is he a beast, he can play football as well.

I think the lockyer/craig partnership has been decent and i dont think coughlan will risk breaking it up at the moment. It can't be that decent, we've been in the bottom 4 nearly all season and we were sh**e the second half of last! Manager, (defender with 450 games played) picks player (defender with 449 games played). So other defender (250 games played and international; likely to easily exceed appearances of other 2) not up to it.

Luke James and Tom Nichols have around 100 appearances between them for Rovers. Are they both better than Jakubiak?

Hard to argue against when you use those players as an example

Back to the central defenders I think it's hard to argue against the TL/TC partnership when we've just gone 4 leagues games undefeated with clean sheets in the last two, although as soon as either falters they know they have TB & Rollin waiting on the side lines to take their places.

The goals against column is pretty good this season, the main issue has been scoring goals imo. Coughlans stated policy of "keeping the shirt" also puts lockyer and craig in the driving seat right now as it was clear that the checkatrade match was used in part to give players who havnt played much football a game. Menayese was on the bench v burton so it will be interesting to see if broadbent gets the nod over him at least on saturday.

Tom Broadbent needs to start every week now. Saw him at Charlton away August 2017, first game, he was great. Since then he has been on the fringe, in and out, and if he doesn't get game time now he will leave. This man has done tours of Afghanistan and nothing frightens him, that's obvious. Was at Northampton last night and he was cruising for 90 mins. The new Steve Elliott... fantastic potential. but it's true he was a shadow of (last -season's form) when he played some games this season - couldn't even head convincingly against small strikers. I'm a big fan though but he's got to earn his place on merit - GC will be fair with him about that I hope/expect. I'd like to see him partner Locks or Craig when he's earned the right. Personally, I think Craig has been playing well lately, and more impressively than Locks, imo.
