Why is this place infested with half baked stories, conspiracy theories, and unsubstantiated rubbish regarding stadium situation. Whatever anybody thinks of the board they are the only who only ones who can deliver on this and they are the ones who know what the current status is. All these rumours are doing is causing a feeding frenzy for those who actually want the stadium to go down the drain and rovers with it. Then maybe the people starting these rumours would be able to say what did I tell you.

I liked the one about our board being lizards from space.... That's not a rumour mate. JTS told me they were all eating locusts at the secret Welly/BRISA/BOD meet. Don't tell anyone though cos I promised I'd not crack on like. Wouldnt want to get sh** like that in the public domain. The plebs on here couldn't handle it. Keep it under yer boater. X

Well I've been saying it for years mate. Frankly anyone who doesn't believe in the hybridisation programme and the reptilian infiltration in the highest echelons is ignorant in my opinion. How far this extends in the club is still uncertain. My research continues.

I genuinely believe that there are those who call themselves supporters and believe it that DO want certain aspects of the club to fail so they can feel like they were right all along or some crap like that. I could give you names of a few posters on here who I reckon fit that bill. A shun to them all.
We are doing ok at the moment and I can just feel them broiling in the background waiting for us to fail so they can crawl back out and give it the big hoo hah. That's what they want.

Who ever leaked the Writ to the Bristol Post caused the biggest concerns about Sainsbury's wanting to buy the mem/build their store, and that must have come form somebody connected to the club, not fans who want the UWE to fail or can say I told you so.

Well if this thread is meant to shut up all the doubters, then good luck with that.
We have just sued our "partners" for failing to progress an appeal which could allow the sale of the Mem to go ahead. This may be a half baked rubbish conspriracy theory, but I would suggest that litigation against a partner for failing to support a joint project does not bode well for that project. It might however be a warning shot across the bows to our "partners" that we are willing to sue them in full if/when they withdraw.
I might dare to be so bold as to suggest it is as clear as a monkey's arse that the UWE is now dead in the water and all that remains is how much compo we can get to salvage the situation.
I don't blame NH for this situation. Our "partners" have changed their minds about the purchase and are using get-out clauses to extricate themselves.
I'm not wishing it to fail, feeding a frenzy or wanting the club to go down the drain. Just commenting on it as it clearly seems to be.
Does anyone really think it will still happen?

no, to be honest it's rovers and i'll never believe a thing about a new stadium until i'm sat there eating pasties.... but.... and it's a big but.... I think we all need to hear an official verdict on what has become yet another complicated wrangling.... until we hear it officially there's very little to be said....

For myself,I do not think of a new ground at UWE anymore, just completely forgot all about it. Just thinking about the football(less worry?)

There's no news until there's news. And it's rarely good. Keep focused on the game in hand people. It really is more interesting

Already added a Support comment - reminded BCC of the impact on the local economy, new jobs to take people off benefits, massive business rates and the spreading out of deliveries away from peak traffic hours. Mind you, if I lived in Filton Avenue, I suspect I'd be an objector!

Will this be the last one? Even if this somehow succeeded I'm sure there will be yet another issue.

Has to be said though if a lorry drove straight in and out without reversing (as to avoid reversing warnings) I really can't see how it's going to ruin people's lives. I live right on Gloucester Road but the traffic never wakes me up. What does wake me up is the amount of watering students there are shouting at 3am on a Tuesday morning.
Seems the Whetherspoons application is managing to keep a low profile.
