I'd revert back to memorial ground. It's hardly a stadium and is never likely to be. There's much more to the place than that too and the area could retain the name well past the time any sport is played there.

Not necessarily the Mem but if we ever get a new stadium some thing like "The Eastville Arena" would be quite good.

Yes we could go the sponsor route. If not something intimidating like 'hell'. I am verging on going for giving it an actual name to makes things more human. I reckon it should be called...... Dave

What would you like it to be and why ? I get feed up with all these sponsors names all over our stadiums, so maybe a stadium name with a local connection would be better I thought about the Brunel Memorial Stadium, but although he was famous, i just don't think he did enough for the people of Bristol except build things.. So i went for Edward Colston as he did a lot for the people of Bristol, Yes i know he was involved in some god awful practices by todays standard, but overall a lot of people have benefited from his Money So the Edward Colston Memorial Stadium has a certain ring to it It will never happen and maybe that's a good thing Ho Henbury. As soon as I read this thread I though "You'll have the Exorcist on your case writing stuff like this" and lo and behold the very next post........ You really are a very naughty boy winding people up like this. Stop it! I work in a very multi-cultural environment and so I carried out a straw poll of 6 different nationalities. They were all visibly ethnic and I asked them a simple question "Do you feel excluded from attending professional football matches"? The unanimous answer was "No" I then asked "Would you attend a football match if you felt like it" The unanimous answer was "Yes" I asked "Do you feel it necessary for football to convene meetings to discuss whether there are things than can be done to persuade or encourage you to attend football matches"? The consensus of replies was that they were quite capable of making their own minds up on the matter and they felt variously amused and bemused that people felt it necessary to actually meet and discuss whether of not they chose to go and watch something they had no interest in. I know that all the people I spoke to have got on with life in this country, hence they're working in a mainstream industry alongside all faiths and cultures. It may well be that the professional hand-wringers and compensation chasers would have a different view; but let's face it, you could give them Buckingham Palace and a million quid a year and they'd still find something to moan about. As for the Colston Hall, I understand they are going to allow a name change. I don't know about you, but I will always refer to it as the Colston Hall and I imagine everyone else will. It's part of the Bristolian Psyche. But that's another story!

Are you interested in going to watch Eintracht Frankfurt?, I asked. 2 x Indians - "No, but when does the cricket start again in the East Park", they asked. 2 x Tunisian - "No, not interested at all". 1 x Portugese - "Yes please!" 1 x Nepalese - (He really said this) "who are Eintracht Frankfurt?" - So that's probably a no then. 1 x German - "Never been to a game of football in my life!". 3 x German - "No, been before but not really interested in football". 2 x German "oh yes!".
