Grats Brian. All the best Rod. Looks like a strong showing of support for BSS from the SC.

A good vote for Rod, I think. Hopefully BSS will be asking himself and some fans why 25% of the turnout voted against him.
Not an anti-BSS post, since I think he means well for the club and fans (although I have doubts about how much influence he has), just something I think he should consider.

Brian does a good job in difficult circumstances. He is the front of house, so to speak, and therefore takes the flak for other's downfalls.

Aghast asks if BSS wonders why 25% of people voted against him!
Not really, it's simple. Because the other 75% voted for him.

Yes, well done all who voted. Congratulations to Brian on his election and also well done Rod who stuck his head above the parapet, he gets my respect for that. A good meeting, as well as SC Directors Brian and Ken we were joined by Darrel Clarke, Barry Bradshaw, Toni Watola & Ed Ware. I enjoyed the meeting especially the discussions with Darrell and the Directors and would highly recommend all Rovers Supporters to join the SC and come to these meetings. And lastly, thank you to everyone involved with the Supporters Club who put in a hell of a lot of work into our Football Club and give up so much of their free time. UTG

Hi
I wanted to say a very big thank you to everyone who supported me in the election for Fans Director and also for the very kind messages placed on this Forum.
It has been a very difficult time for all of us at BRFC and I sincerely hope that our fortunes have finally turned around. I shall continue to do all I can to ensure our progress continues and your voices are heard.
I would also like to thank Rod for standing. It takes tremendous courage to put yourself forward and I only have admiration for him for doing that. I know he will continue to do all he can to support our club.
Now that the election is over, I shall try to keep you up to dated as and where I can. I find twitter easier as I am out and about all the time. Nevertheless I shall do what I can and I am looking at new ways of doing this.
Once again my sincere thanks
best wishes as always #utg
Brian

Congratulations Brian, I hope you will feel able to engage with the broad spectrum of Gasheads. Well done Rod putting yourself where others fear to tread.
Did any of the directors have anything new to say?

Don't disappear Rod. You obviously have something to offer. Take up BSS 's offer to approach the S/C executive. The more the merrier.

UTG Is this the best vehicle Jon ? Can you remember the end of the season - and the acute lack of urgency shown by the supporters club to engage with its members in light of the catastrophy ??

Hi Mark, There was no lack of urgency by the supporters club to engage with its members in the light of the catastrophy of being relegated. Everything was arranged as soon as it was practicable. EGM called on 7th May bristolroverssc.co.uk/2014/05/07/2022/Followed by Date fixed, structure and request for Supporters Club Members questions on May 20th bristolroverssc.co.uk/2014/05/20/2025/Followed by List of submitted questions by members on June 3rd bristolroverssc.co.uk/2014/06/03/2031/Followed by the meeting itself for June 17th bristolroverssc.co.uk/2014/06/16/2037/

A lack of urgency wouldnt be my criticism
A lack of holding the club to account would be mine?
Are BRSC happy or unhappy with the answers they have received from the club?

My thoughts are if you're not happy with a groups ways or actions including urgency - increase it's numbers thereby increasing it's power. Then attend meetings and have a say in how things can be improved. If you still think things can be done better stand as a commitee member and maybe even a Fan's director role and implement your ideas and initiatives. UTG .

I thought that was very poor considering what had happened at the end of the season ! Too many things at Rovers are reactive rather than proactive. I fear this reacting rather than pro-acting is still the case after witnessing the Q & A at the stadium in July.
