And that is something I totally agree with you on. Budget is going to be a big factor again in this close season. I said in a previous thread our recruitment will be down to how much the Al Qadi family want to back DC. They could give him the best budget in the league if the wanted to, as from what I understand, the Football League Financial Fair Play turnover figure includes donations from the owners to the club and injections of equity. www.financialfairplay.co.uk/scmp.phpSurely they could only give us the best budget if they could afford to as I doubt any of us actually know how wealthy they are? Plus if they did "donate|" the millions needed to get us promoted what do we do next season if we reached the Championship, promptly get relegated?

According to the Bristol Post the Al Qadi family are worth £400m, I don't know accurate that is. We wouldn't necessarily have to get relegated if we did get promoted, it would once again come down to how prudent and successful our recruitment is. I think we could stay up and if I was the management, would relish the task.

Have to disagree about Tom Eaves. I thought he stank the place out. No movement, no creativity, didn't even win many headers for such a giant. Just a big awkward lump with no skill, wouldn't fit into the way we play and we can do a lot better. Gaffney is better than Eaves. If you are happy with us lumping the ball forward to a static forward like we did before relegation then we should sign him, as that's all he offers. Agree, thought Eaves was sh**. Hard to see how he has done so well for them on that showing. P.S amazing how having long hair can make you look so different!

It was a dire performance and points yet again given away, you really have to question the unprofessional build up to the game players coming out with their kids, were they prepared for a game of football to be won or were they in the mind set of holidays on the horizon? We have had everything to play for and still do, three more points could still be gained and a negative goal difference reduced, have our players already been encouraged to turn off? Hey Mr Grumpy, didn't realise you were there. Your mate Mr Bloggs was bashing out some old favourites in the bar afterwards; even the Captain was (marginally) happy to be there. UTG

UTGHey Phil you doing ok, is the old begger still going strong? I was at a pre-arranged do at the Anson Rooms, good to hear The Bloggs was back. Fair point though don't you think?

Darren All in all a point was a fair (tongue in cheek - grrr); the Captain is still soldiering on. Apparently had a fall when he got home on Tuesday night; the car in the garage below his flat was covered in dust from the impact . He was a bit shook up, but otherwise unscathed.

Would agree with this and I really don't rate Gaffney. Eaves caused Craig and Locks problems in the first half purely down to the height advantage he had over them (personally think we need some height at the back and shouldn't play these two together). Had Eaves had anything about him or any real quality we would've been in trouble. Can only assume from our scout reports DC knew that despite the aerial advantage and winning headers Eaves wouldn't cause us any meaningful threat. I'd take Gaffers being a headless chicken any day over long ball football.
