DC takes each game as it comes, so I wouldn't be surprised to see a completely different style used against Eastleigh, seeing as their weakness (without Turley) seems to be at the back.
Southport's weakness was obviously going forward, hence why we went there to grind out the win.

I've seen 3 out of the 5 wins. Didnt go today. I dont think we are winning games convincingly and the old cliche of 'a couple of decent signings would put us right up there' comes to mind. But who do you drop from a winning team, despite winning games IMO without real conviction.
I desperately want Taylor to find his shooting boots. His effort is great and I enjoy watching him, just not sure how much longer we can keep scraping wins, without having that 20 goal a season striker?
This aint a negative post, just want us to do everything to really kick on now.

Barnet have scored double what we have, and the two teams above us 7 more. If Matty Taylor had scored the free header from 8 yards at FGR we would have won the match. Today another free header was missed, luckily we still got the 3 points anyway. We are getting away with not finishing teams off at the moment. But as you say, I hope MT starts scoring soon. 7 in 7 for Chester so we know he can.

We are doing just enough to win games atm, but we are far from the finished article ,One quality striker now and it could well shape our season.

Fair point mate, from what I have seen so far performance-wise this season, I am just apprehensive that we can keep up the wins to keep us in the top 5.

Totally. What a great season that was. We also went on an incredible run of going a goal down to come back and win 2-1 six games in a row. I don think we've come back from behind to even get a point yet so we can't be sure how it's going to go. Good start to the season though.

I agree with you. we shouldn't get carried away from beating such a lowly team as Southport and as you say we still should be looking to improve the team. We do need a clinical finisher or two and we need more quality at the back in my eyes too ! We should aim for the top spot because the play-offs are a lottery !! One good (other than the five wins of course) sign is two clean sheets in a row.

I just think we need a proper right back - solid at the back and comfortable supporting attacks down the right. Lockyer could then challenge Trotman and McChrystal challenges Parkes - real competition across the backline. If a player doesn't perform then he can be replaced

I know we can't get carried away beating Southport but too many times in the past have lost away against teams like this. This season alone Alty and Braintree (is that even a place??) and in recent years Accrington, Dag & Red and York etc so I am delighted that we have managed to get this win in. Its more the fact that we have 2 away wins on the trot now and 5 straight wins that pleases me, even though we didn't play that well today. A point on Tuesday and 2 more home wins in after that and we will be very close to Barnet. A slow start but we are really starting to get going now, long may it continue. A +4 goal difference alone is something to celebrate, when did we last have that!?!

If a player doesn't perform then he can be replaced well dc has said hes always looking to improve the team and brunt wants to go out on loan[ie free up money],,,there are question marks about lockyer at right back but i personally think hes doing pretty well there and of course we have leadbitter who im still trying to work out as he looks good surging forward but not so great defending[woking targeted him as a weakness] i hope we give trotman a longer deal and that andy monkhouse and balanta are fit soon to increase our options. its nice to be in the top 5 though

Nice to be in the top five; although, after scoring a good goal, I was disappointed we then went into defence mode, ending up bringing on McChrystal and having five across the back.

If we continue to challenge at the top, Darrell Clarke will present the board with a challenge! If we have any ambition, the chequebook will be out in January (the start of, not the end!) and then we can hopefully kick on!!!
More chance of this happening if the crowds reach 7,000+!!!
Let's hope we are planning!!!

Not wishing to pour cold water on things, but every winning run comes to an end sometime so we need to be ready. Lets hope we can keep it going a bit longer though.
