Are you counting penalties in that? I thought his name was Akinde, pen. Only if he scores the penalty in the 15th min :-)

Barnet have said John Akinde is available for transfer... I'll leave that here and let the comments do the work 😂 I’d honestly swap Nichols for Akinde in the blink of an eye. It doesn’t matter what level you play at, you want players that have confidence and know where the back of the net is and Akinde does and Nichols sadly doesn’t.
Akinde hasn't been the same player since his injury by all accounts. Poor game/goal return as well this season compared to previous years and still on high wages.
Still a better option than Nicholls though!!

How can Barnet pay any player "big wages" unless he takes most of their annual playing budget? When he was on the box recently v Luton(?) he looked as big a goal threat as ever even if he's had a poor season. Madness we paid £300K for Nichols when we could probably get AKinde for similar money this summer.

People calling to sign Akinde now? I know Nichols has been poor, but Akinde...really?!

People calling to sign Akinde now? I know Nichols has been poor, but Akinde...really?! People have short memories. "Big bloke", "would scare defences", "would hold the ball up well", "would score goals for us". All the same things that were said about him when we got him on loan from the sh**. And then he was useless, couldn't score and stopped putting any effort in. It's a no from me.

I`ve been watching Bristol Rovers players for 40 years, and hardly any of them could score. But his lack of effort was unforgiveable.

Off for the summer. Can’t be doing with reading all the hot air of who we haven’t signed , who Oldham etc have signed and how we’re doomed or guaranteed promotion. See you next season Nice attention seeking post. You won't be missed

Akinde? Really? Not good enough to lace ANY of our strikers' boots.
If we need a big battering ram of a striker, we could do worse than looking at Tom Eaves. Not convinced we really need this type of player anyway, but if we do please let's set our sights a bit higher than Akinde!

To be honest I am clueless how Tom Eaves scores so many goals for Gillingham last season, he looked useless when they came to the mem.

But he has scored a few this season. As I say though, not convinced we need a big striker as Harrison and Gaffney are fine in my opinion. We do need firepower though, but I'd prefer us to go for Telford as he showed he had an eye for goal and possibly one more, dare I say it, Matty Taylor type player.

I think Gaffney is league 2 standard, but I’m happy with Telford. As long as his attitude towards the club doesn’t stink like the snake’s...

He probably does as they build their team around him and reply on youth players coming through or being released by the local London 'big-boys'.
