Kayden Jackson may be leaving Ipswich for 2.5 million. Another club selling their best striker for more than we did with poorer stats

No one was interested in JCH, that's why the price was a lot lower. It's obvious a player will go for more, when clubs higher up the pyramid are interested. Time to put the JCH fee to bed. I expect it included a decent sell on clause. So if be works out, we will get more money anyway. If he does not, we got a great price. He didn't even look fit in pre season, so was not motivated to play for us anyway. Ferguson has confirmed this since.

R.Lambert was also unfit and the Southampton manager who signed him said as much too, and that was after he'd played a league game for us. Maybe fitness issues are more closer to home. Strange how Championship clubs are interested in a statistically inferior, yet more expensive striker in Jackson? - Sad how we always seem shortchanged while those around us arent.

Ipswich were throwing silly money about then too, we got £750,000 for Ellis Harrison.

What do you expect the club to do force a Championship club to buy JCH, I know you have to knock the club at every opportunity but I can't see it's their fault only P'boro where prepared to take the risk on signing him, if they hadn't sold Toney JCH would probably still be a Rovers player slowly running his contract down.

I guess Bayern Munich are ‘just as incompetent’ as Rovers when it comes to contracts. Thiago left relatively cheaply because he ran his contract down to the last year. Perhaps it’s not as easy as some on here think to force a player to sign a contract extension or sell them earlier against their will?

Lambert had a lot more to his game and things have changed since then. We now have a back room team, including nutritionists. The player's were on furlough for ages though. So if players didn't come back fit, that was their fault. Championship clubs were interested in him as he's quick, runs into channels and creates space for others. Goal statistics are not everything. I'm sure clubs look into how many attacks come to an end, when a player gets the ball. How much they move around the pitch. What else they can bring to the side etc.

Anything less than 2 million should have been met with a big f**k off

Not sure why people think we could have kept JCH. Any player us only worth what another club is willing to pay. Does anyone know if we rejected initial bids and got the best we could ? Did JCH want to leave ? Clause in contract ? And to say we should have refused the fee and kept him so he could leave for free at the end of his contract is madness. Time to let it go

Time to let it go According to Starnes we rejected the first offers. When Posh made one we thought acceptable, in view of his contract running down, it was decided to sell. He said.

Oh well that shoud be of some comfort when we get relegated then...
