It's a no from me, even with my short memory span I remember his shenanigans to get a transfer Was it really that bad, he had the chance to move to Middlesborough, a club much bigger than us and in a better position. Billy Bodin, outright refused to sign another contract with us, yet we all seem to talk highly of him, i don't think Carayol did anything worse. Id 100% have him back here, he would be a great addition and sort of player we are missing.
You cant really compare Bodin's exit to Carayol's.
Carayol still had a year left on his contract so we had no reason to sell until he expressed his dissatisfaction publicly on Twitter at now being allowed to move. Bodin could have gone for free in the summer so the club decided to get some money for him. I accept both wanted to move away, but the way they both went about it was totally different imo. Apparently Carayol had a clause in his contract at Lincoln to allow him to quit the club if he wanted to....the sign of a player always looking for his next move and imo one to avoid

He is the sort of player that DC would most likely avoid; certainly to quote my old mate Roadman "not the sort of player you would want in the trenches beside you". Despite peoples attempt to change my opinion - it's still a no from me

I'd happily take him back. Beggers can't be choosers in this league. However, he wouldn't come here for a few reasons? 1. Too expensive 2. I think he's quite big headed, I'd expect he thinks he's too good for L1 3. DC wouldn't sign him - he's a problem child (He got released in January to allow a move to Ipswich. Now they've released him 5 months later) 1 & 2 might be irrelevant if only Div 1 club's will now offer him a contract? Whilst only DC can answer No 3 but I sensed he liked the challenge of knocking Harrison into shape. Apart from his shenanigans when he left us he's hardly built a reputation has being a bad apple.

Agree to disagree with all the people saying no.
He is 29 now, probably matured a bit, has experience of playing in league above and did okay despite injury problems.
We will do very well to find a better player than Carayol. Bennett, Sercombe, a defensive midfielder, Carayol = one hell of a midfield.
With our backroom staff and improved playing surface (we can hope), his injuries could be better managed here.

Who can really blame him for not wanting to play for McGhee??
I'd have struggled to want to wear the shirt for that clown.

What is the point signing a player who is going to be injured more often than not? I would imagine the Championship clubs he has been at have better training and rehab facilities than we will ever have.
I don't doubt his ability, but if he could stay fit for long enough he would be looking for higher than league one.
I just see him as a waste of wages. I would rather have someone with less ability but could give you at least 30-40 games a season

I like Muzzy but he’s too injury prone to take a chance on as he’d be a big earner here.

His tweets were just an immature player wanting to push a big money move. Irritated me a bit at the time but I've seen worse.
McGhee on the move... "He'll have a great time. He did well for me and his attitude was first class."
Personally, I'd hope DC and TW have a far more extensive list of transfer targets than the released ex-players touted on here every transfer window.
Edit: But hopefully not quite as extensive as Pirate's

It seems even his short spell at Ipswich was "hampered by injury" so unless we can sign him on a pay as you play type deal then we'll have to forget him, as he seems to have an injury blighted career, a bit like Leads seems to have developed lately. www.nottinghampost.com/sport/football/former-nottingham-forest-winger-mustapha-1570841

I have a feeling we'll be playing against him next season in league one. Unless he is injured!
