This will be our most important signing of the summer imo. We need to get it right. So we're seemingly spending a fortune on the pitch for the second summer running so we can play a passing game at the Mem but then DC is going to sign a striker from the 70's so we can play hoof ball? Unless Harrison is sold this summer I'd be amazed if he didn't start next as our centre forward, signing somebody to play alongside seems the priority to me. Back to the OP hopefully we can continue with the progression made during January, transfer wise, as we probably finished with a top 10 squad, so a few decent signings could have us there, or thereabout next season, assuming we get off to a decent start. Warboys is a club legend and what was wrong with the 70s, promotion, o ye, doh. Did you see the goal Rammell scored against Oxford, ffs both players would walk into DCs current team. The new pitch, at best, will only be as good as every other club. We actually finished with a top 13 squad and Ellis in my opinion could play alongside a big tall centre forward who could actually head the ball into the net from a cross from the width.

Also, hope D.C. is targeting a Warboys/ Rammell type of centreforward. This will be our most important signing of the summer imo. We need to get it right. Depends how we see Ellis though. Is he the traditional centre forward who plays alongside a smaller goalscoring striker in the Taylor/Stewart mould, or should Ellis play alongside a target man? Personally, I think Ellis has thrived leading the attack this season and having added that aggression and never say die to his game, I'd like to see us go for Telford and ideally one other poacher type striker.

We don't win enough headers in the opposing penalty area. Countless corners and crosses are easily defended. If we are to challenge next season then that needs to be addressed.

DC hinted about bringing in a third keeper, let’s hope he pitches in for Lumley, IMO he was tremendous when he played against us at Bloomfield Road. Also, hope D.C. is targeting a Warboys/ Rammell type of centreforward. Lumley would be great hope mclaren doesn’t want him, agree I think we need an imposing striker for a plan B to throw it in the mixer if we are drawing games and need a winner. Rammel was immense in the air still remember him putting Andy Collett and the ball in the back of the net at the Mem. He knew what he was good at and stuck to it.

They'd only walk into the team if DC thought having a lump of a striker was the way forward but apart from our spell in the Conference he's never played with a big CF upfront.

Remember that v Darlo..Collett,ex Gas too.Rammell seemed to get knackered even in the warm ups that John Still supervised but was a great asset. In the same game Wayne Carlisle scored a terrific free kick in that game too at the tent end.i.e when we only had one tent!!
