Do people reckon there'll be another RB signing this summer or will we be doing Parts, Leads and Clarke in a pinch?
Considering Leads' injury problems that seems a little risky.

Sorry to be a killjoy but too many hamstring injuries for me think I would have let him go, got to be ruthless when you can hardly pay the wages hey Gasinsider 😂 Surely that's been addressed though, DC is quoted as saying that he has had surgery to correct the problem with his hamstring and will be ready to join the squad in preseason training....

I personally think its a waste of wages, but there are clearly lots of people that think otherwise, too lightweight and too injury prone, doubt he'll be involved in much league action - Partington is a much better player and a much better starting option. Mainly cups and the bench - we've got youngsters that can do that...

I hope it all works out for danny with his hamstrings as hes been a great signing and i love watching him surging forward, one of the quickest players ive seen in a rovers shirt. Hes part of the conference promotion group that has restored pride in our club. You can be too loyal i know but i love the way dc stands by the players who have gave everything on the pitch for him and the club.

Danny is a very different player to Partington firstly. I can see your point with injury prone but the rest i'd disagree with. He did start poorly but he grew into his own last season and was excellent until he got injured. Even if he was just for the bench (which he won't be), good teams have strength, depth & players who offer different strengths even though they play in the same position. Partington & Leadbitter offer two strong options. They also give each other competition for the place as well which is worth a hell of a lot. Last time we had squads where there was no competition for places we were relegated both times....

In my opinion it is good that he signed - I feel that he is our best right back. He has tremendous pace and his ability to overlap is particularly effective late in the game

Last time we had squads where there was no competition for places we were relegated both times.... He started poorly last year after coming back from an injury, he's coming back next season from an injury, he took a long time to have a decent game this year, and if that was down to confidence it'll probably be even longer next year. I agree with the competition aspect entirely And I don't disagree but I don't necessarily agree that parts and leads are different players - leadbitter is much faster, Partington is physically much stronger. But they're still on the pitch to do the same job, and leadbitter who is the skillful fast player doesn't take players on any more through fear of injury. In any other profession youre out of the game if you don't do a key part of your job through fear of injury when it's just a standard occupational hazard - if I went to my barbers and he said he's not going to use the cutthroat or the scissors through fear of injury and still asked for full price for half a job he wouldn't last. - ridiculous comparison but it was all I thought of right now lol Leadbitter needs to put some weight on then get down the gym, if he didn't have the physique of a 9 year old girl he might last a bit longer through the season

Happy with this. But he needs to have a good season this year.
Much, much better option than Parts at RB for me.

Great news, fantastic player and will only improve. My thoughts exactly. He’s 27, coming into his prime, has a point to prove and still has time to get better if he takes on board what the coaches tell him. It does annoy me that a lot of people on here seem to think that a player’s ability is fixed at a certain point in time and that’s as good as it gets. As long as he listens, is prepared to work hard, stays fit and gets a few decent crosses in next season I think it will be a good bit of business. I know we often talk about the squad having a good team spirit but I think it is far more important than we realise and DL’s decision to sign on the dotted line is a good example of that.

BTW - a lot of players apart from Danny started poorly last season : Lines, Lockyer, Sweeney, Ollie etc etc . I think most were only praising Sercombe, Gaffs and Harrison in the early part of the season.
