Unlike DC Chris Hargreaves has no Management pedigree even at lower league level and was pretty awful in charge at Torquay. Gerry had a bad record at Exeter, his only managerial job before Rovers... I appreciate that doesn't mean that Hargreaves would be a success, but the latters poor spell at Torquay doesn't mean he wouldn't be either. I think Socrates is right. Internal would probably be the way to go, whether it be Stewart, Mansell, Hargreaves or AN Other. Just not yet though please.

Not convinced by Lampard as a manager. He's only just been appointed, give him chance! Lol. Seriously though, I think he could do alright. He's intelligent and well respected in the game and will have a good network of support to ask advice from, with his dad and uncle 'arry etc. Players will probably want to join and play for him. I respect all that and he was a good player but he is a nice bloke and I don't see him as a leader (think Zola). I could see him as a good coach but not manager. I also think these top players would be better off starting at a lower level and working their way up. We shall see...

I read an interesting article in The Times yesterday. I'm not paper title dropping, someone had left it on the train!
It was all about how difficult it is for up and coming British managers to break into the Prem, let alone the Championship. It featured on Hurst and Lampard, as well as mentioning several promising young coaches in non league. The article seemed to suggest the only way a young native could get to manage in the Champ or Prem was to take a team there, ala Eddie Howe.
What did please me that there was no mention of DC, and as far as I'm concerned the longer we can keep him under the radar the better.
Let the football world notice him when he takes us into the Championship!

We'll have to agree to disagree then, because I see him as a potentially good leader of men in management terms, where as I didn't ever get that impression with someone like Zola. Like you said, we shall see...

No, the 18th century Scottish economist. Probably dead by now, is the forum now open to Mediums? Because if it is, perhaps one of them could try getting in touch with Baggins and see if he's OK. We don't seem to have heard from him, or his ever-changing avatar, recently.

He's probably having a break for the summer from the sh** stirring on here, I beleive it’s called ‘having a life’ and good luck to him!

Yeah only if they’re successful
