So the Supporters Club bar will be the hideous Bristol Room. I wonder if they'll give that a refurb too? Tbh the only reason I bought SC membership was to use the bar pre match. I imagine there's quite a few who do the same. Is there any real need for it anymore in its current form?

No, though as mentioned, this is also getting a refurb so will depend in you want to go in that bar. I'm all for the 'non-members' approach, and would do away with it in both bars if it was me.

All sounds positive - what's not to like. Seems they are doing as much as they can to improve the match day experience through listening to the fans gripes re queues and access etc. Must say I like the fact there will be access straight off the thatchers end Agreed. Good stuff and the first real investment in the stadium since the supporters funded the roof over home end terrace. U'mmm didn't they have that anyway? The doors where people queued up for 10 minutes before half time?

So we're not getting two new tents for stands then, which is odd since they both appear on the club ticket office website? Starting to think the 12 world class architects Wael mentioned have been given a project each to design for the Mem: club shop, family stand, away stand, new bogs, new turnstyles, that's leaves another half a dozen projects to go unless the 7th & 8th were the new players tunnel & new pitch. where does it say they are tents? Both will have hard roofs as it goes. Don't want to be in there when it rains!!

It would make the stadium look more welcoming if the south stand was extended the whole width of the ground I think the away disabled area and the away port a loos get in the way

When Wimbledon is over? Another thought is that why spend money on temporary stands when next season a new permanent 4000 all seat stand and groundsman quarters will be built at that end? Regarding the refurbished bars it would be possible IMO to retain those in a new 5000 all seat stand at that end by retaining the terrace area and converting to seating with an elevated 2nd tier above constructed with steel frames cantilevered over the existing bars with less disruption and maintaining capacity. Phased properly it might take 1st year steel frame then 2nd year infill frame and roof. ps I'm not one of the 12 world class stadium designers Wael quoted but I'm a little experienced in these matters

What exactly makes it an SC bar anyway. They are nothing to do with the club and presumably the SC dont take any of the bar takings or any of the costs

It's the left bar as you walk in from behind the Blackthorn. The one that looks like a social club that needs putting out of its misery.

Complete with skittle alley; I once attended a christmas function in there from the Horfield TA centre. After our excellent meal and a quantity of assorted beverages, we partook in a roll-up. The team I was in took the prize money, converted it into more alcohol

Another nail in the coffin of the "we got no money" brigade ..... what next.... Got to be the new Santa's grotto ! Ah but it clearly means we are never moving or ever redevolping The Mem or something. You know, even doing something positive has to actually be a negative
