The new stands are to be installed at the beginning of August. The delay in this is due to planning consultation, although there appears to be no problem with planning. The stands are bespoke and are being constructed in France once imported into the country they will only take a few days to install. They are all made of a hard material with a hard roof, one is to replace the south west tent the other two are to go either side of the centenary stand.
Season tickets are being printed they will go to the mailing centre to be sent out by the end of July.
Info came direct from the club. Thanks for the info chap.

Or will there be a 'gap' underneath so some terracing can still be used. I know the north stand at Bath Rugby allows some terracing and access below . So a bit of both ??

Don't know why we are buying from France, there are a few good stand builders here in the UK I suspect it'll be cheaper. Apparently it’s because they are designed to last at least. 50 yrs

Will it increase the ground capacity?
Or decrease it maybe?

To try and answer one or two questions, from the ticket plans, I believe the new stands are going in line with the centenary stand so there should still be some terracing In front of them but don't take that as read. I did ask whether the capacity will increase and have been informed that the club don't know as yet as it will be down to the safety officer, who will inspect the works on completion.

As each side is redeveloped each stand can be relocated to the other side to maintain capacity. On completion the stands can be sold for a profit to the team on the other side of the river who will need to expand as The Little Man expects to be playing in Europe by then.

If the temp stands are similar to the set up at Carlisle, then they will sit in line with the main stand either side allowing the terracing to be used as currently. As regards the capacity, isn't that dependent on the overall ground capacity which has to be passed by BCC? Adding the stands will increase the potential capacity, it just depends on what the council caps the overall at.

I think it’s possible to apply for temporary increase in the capacity for big games where there is a likelihood of a sell out. I believe Newport County did this last year for their FA Cup match against spurs. Would be fun to get a big tie at home in the Cup and see if we could squeeze 13,000 into the tiny ground of ours.

Correct. Newport had 9,836 against Spurs when the usual capacity at Rodney Parade for football matches is 7,850. Produced a cracking atmosphere too. Imagine what 13,000 at the Mem for a big game would be like!

Imagine what 13,000 at the Mem for a big game would be like! Newport's ground already has a safety certificate of 11676 spectators for rugby matchs reduced to 7850 for football. Rugby fans can also stand up or sit down as they like whilst also drinking alcohol watching the game. Such genteel creatures a different breed altogether. shame it's such an odd shaped ball they have to contend with. There is gender age, sexual orientation, creed, race discrimination why not sport

"Would be fun to get a big tie at home in the Cup" third round rather than being knocked out by a non league or division two side in an earlier round!

Well you are optimistic given DC's record in the FA Cup, although Slough Town have a decent away following

Will this include more disabled spaces and facilities Given the construction of the new stands that seems unlikely?

regardless of how many extra spaces the new temp stands create.... I think the aim of this exercise is to improve the quality of viewing. plus seats can be charged at a higher rate.....
