As Hugo has said replacing the Guinness stand with a virtually identical tent seems to be pointless. It can’t offer anything more than maybe two extra rows of seats at a push. I was under the impression before the season that a perminant stand would replace the SW one, a stand would be built above the away standing, and a stand would be built between the Blackthorn and Uplands. I’m certain the club provided blueprints showing this. These new stands getting ditched is either a really good sign (Stadium on the horizon) or bad news (Dwane sports don’t want to spend anymore £ on developing the Mem before they sell up). Only time will tell. Some communication from the club would be nice. I don't believe there was any mention of permanent stands. That would need different planning permission. Some people were led to believe the temporary structures would be more 'rigid'.
Maybe there were other issues with the SW stand. The South Stand had to be refurbished the other season, so a replacement was deemed better value
The Family stand is supposed to be going in this week unless something else has happened.
Not sure what the issue is/was with the proposed area at the away terracing
I highly doubt you can build tents or semi permanent structures above terracing in this day and age. If that was the case then the blueprints truly were for show. “Some people”, I’m 99% sure Wael did an interview saying they would be solid stands no longer having a tent roof. I know everyone makes a laugh and joke about the lack of communication but it wasn’t a dig in my original post, just genuinely would be nice to know why they haven’t followed through on the plans.

As I understand, the NE stand is being installed behind the terrace, making use of the flat section between the terrace and the refreshment huts. It may take up some of the top rows of the terrace, but will not be above anyone standing.
In the Gascast interview, Tom Gorringe said that the North East Stand would be ready for the Plymouth Game as well as the new bar where the old shop was. If these are not ready by Saturday, it is not for want of trying. So the only outstanding issue is the extra away seating. Are you really that bothered whether this happens or not?

The south west stand does have more rows of seats than the original, the new blue seating does look a bit better than the old green seats, and I think the roof but not sides is made of hard plastic material. My understanding is that the family stand is going in now, but there will be no away stand as the club didn't get enough sponsorship to pay for it . Any improvements to the ground have to come from sponsorship, I am not sure what has happened to the 1.4 million plus add ons from the sale of players, some went to Dc but clearly not all.

The ‘season ticket graphic’ is a blueprint, so yes that’s what I’m referring to. I am bothered about developments at the club I support yes, so that is a pointless question. What I was trying to get at is if these developments have been stopped/scaled back or put on hold it could actually be a positive indication of stadium news in the near future. Forgot we cannot question anything to do with the running of the club. This place has become so political. As you were.

Look forward to seeing the family stand hopefully its decent

So are we still waiting for 2 new stands. Haven’t we always had a sw stand also looks like the same tent as last year? I think they started building the north east stand thing today, to be ready for Plymouth. But they're not gonna build the away end stand thing, now. Well, they had said, "The new Bristol Energy Family Stand due to be built on the 3rd,4th & 5th September and will be in use for supporters for the match with Plymouth on September 8th." but nothing seems to be happening atm.

She just shrugged her shoulders as if to say just because they said it was happening doesn’t mean it is happening.

To sum up we can’t believe anything that comes from the owners mouth Bang on. They can’t even build the new NE tent they promised would be going up. I thought after UWE was pulled and Wael went into hiding that he and his family were frauds, now I think he’s got zero power, has little influence and is seen by his family as a simple child who has been bought a toy to occupy him whilst they do the important stuff and they don’t much appreciate him asking for more. Trouble for us is that the toy is our beloved football club!
