I'll chuck a couple of names in the hat: Scott Wilson - scored 14 goals for Macclesfield last season, 25 years old, just signed a new 2 year contract in the summer. Came up through shithead academy and had a record of over 1 in 2 for WSM a couple of seasons ago. Conor Chaplin - Promising player who's progress has been hampered by the arrival of Brett Pitman last season at Pompey. Very different player to Ellis but potential to imrprove. Assuming we're looking for a centre forward how do you think Chaplin is a suitable replacement for EH when he's another "midget" at just 5'6"? It looks like he's now staying at Pompey anyway. Personally, if we need another No 10 I'd sign Telford For a replacement for EH I'd test FGR's resolve with a decent bid for Doidge. Just a petty we didn't sign Akinde, who Lincoln probably signed for next to nothing. i know a friend of dale Grubbs fgr he said that Doidge has a bad attitude and a right diva Not dc material

I'd put a decent offer in for Sean McConville. He's a winger.

Wigan are letting Devante Cole go, young and a decent scoring record at this level. He really impressed me when we played Fleetwood at homelast season, would be an ideal replacement for Harrison.
Kayden Jackson would be the other target that I would go for. Scored a decent number of goals for Accrington last season and is a striker I really rate. Again only 24 so has time to improve, can see us being able to get him if we make a decent offer to Accrington.

Billy Kee, 27-year-old, 5ft 9in, Accrington. 26 goals from 52 games in 17/18. Devante Cole, 23-year-old, 6ft 1in, Wigan. 12 goals/6 assists from 40 apps in 17/18. Joe Nuttall, 21-years-old, 5ft 11½in, Blackburn. 5 goals from 6 starts for the first team in all comps and 14 goals from 15 games in Premier League 2. Nominated for PL2 Player of the Season Macaulay Bonne, 22-year-old, 5ft 11in, Leyton Orient. 25 goals from 52 apps during 17/18. Rushian Hepburn-Murphy, 19-year-old, 5ft 8in, Aston Villa. He scored 13 times, including a brace to send his club to the PL2 play-off final, days before Villa lifted the Premier League Cup. Nominated for PL2 Player of the Season. Or any of these lads abroad: Dani Aquino, Macauley Chrisantus, Cristian López, Manuel Fischnaller, Alessandro Capello, Marcel Platzek, Sam Hendriks, Enis Bunjaki, Nico Empen, Ander Vitoria, Zakaria Suraka, Sadat Karim, Ivan Lendric, Gabriele Moncini. Kee and Hepburn-Murphy are too small in my opinion. Needs to be 5ft 11in minimum and that's if he's got a good leap.
Power, pace and aerial ability are what we're lacking. Too be honest I don't know too much about the others so I'm not sure which could be described as strong, quick and excellent in the air.

I wouldn't mind us signing one littl'un and one big'un. Kee and Hepburn-murphy would both score goals IMHO. Devante Cole is decent in the air and if reports that Wigan want rid are true, would be a good signing. He's been left at home from their pre-season tour. Virtually all the ones I've mentioned have power and pace. Bonne, Nuttall, Moncini, Lendric, Vitoria, Bunjaki, Platzek, Capello and Chrisantus are all decent in the air.

I wonder if Bernard is worth a trial at c/f!?granted he prob aint tall enough as a target man but he's quick and nothing scares defenders as much as pace, pleased with our business so far, but lets not forget the boys coming through the ranks, they have to know they will get there chance to make it, come on you blues!

Mensah is not the answer. Played up front at FGR on Saturday and was completely ineffective. Can't remembering him having a single shot on or off target and somebody who went to Melksham said he was no better in the game against part time defenders.

Personally I'd like us to sign 2 strikers 5ft 11in +. We already have Nichols and Reilly who are short. Lets not forget we're also replacing Gaffney who was 6ft+.
If we sign a taller striker and he gets injured we need someone in the squad capable of playing that role.

Devante Cole and Tom Eaves, both different than what we have and would give us options up front.

One I forgot to mention is Ivan Toney. He's 'only' 5ft 10in, but good in the air. He would be good.

Do you think Newcastle would let him go?
Surely given his record at Scunny they'd want him back?
