Time has been changed from 3pm to 1.30pm.
Police advised for the change due to trouble in the previous match between us at Home Park.

As I remember one idiot running on the pitch ( he is hopefully now subject to a banning order so won't be there anyway ), a few people giving it large and a huge amount of over reaction from the boys in blue. But hey giving people an hour and a half less in the pub will cure all of that. And of course I saw zero trouble when we played them last time at the Mem. My experience suggests this article is bang on - Premier League and EFL football matches 'over-policed' www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-44871578"Amanda Jacks, a caseworker at The Football Supporters' Federation, said high numbers of officers did not match the "few individuals within crowds of thousands" who posed a risk. "A high concentration of police definitely has an impact on fans. Everybody has to take responsibility for their own actions but how supporters are policed and stewarded plays into the dynamic on match days," she said. "Policing tactics will play into that dynamic. "If there is a police escort or line around away fans, they are immediately creating a focal point that will heighten tensions between two sets of fans - the away fans inside will be jeered at and they will jeer those outside."

Interesting when someone says they saw no trouble on a match day.
As if they’re at every pub 3 hours before kick off, every train station and every part of the ground
But yeah, ACAB

Having been at plenty of games where there has been significant trouble in the past, I assure you if there is wide spread disorder most people at the game will be aware of it. We don't really live in the 1970s anymore and other than perhaps a Rovers/City game we are generally a pretty well behaved bunch. No doubt wherever a load of people are drinking there will be the odd issue, but lets not blow the whole thing out of all proportion. There is no doubt this is an over reaction and I have real doubts a slightly earlier start will make any difference.
Best way to stop trouble is to ban everything and impose rules that make sure people never drink or go out past 7.30 in the evening :-)

I don't think cutting drinking time by 90 minutes is blowing anything out of proportion. If it stops a few scuffles through dickheads not being able to behave themselves when they drink then its good. On the flip side it may achieve nothing. We'll never really know. The police will. But I agree it wouldn't make a difference to any potential widespread disorder. That is, generally risk groups meeting up. If they're gonna do it, they will, regardless of K.O time.
I can't remember seeing [what I would call] any proper trouble at a game for many years anyway. London yes, not with Rovers tho.

What's the point of these 1:30 kickoffs? Is it really supposed to prevent drinking?
You can be in the pub by 11:30 and gulp several down before getting to the ground, if you really want to.
If they really wanted to nip it in the bud, it would be a 10:30 start.
Mind you, that wouldn't be anything new for the old boys at Wetherspoons, who normally have their first pint at 9:15 am.

Thanks for the reminder, I must have misheard the announcement at the last home game as I thought it was 11.30 kick off, so was planning to get to the ground at 10.30!

You (mis)heard an announcement at a home game? Wonders will never cease. Wouldnt know what one of those is, not having heard one since Twerton.
