It's on my Agenda to have sex with a beautiful 25 year old female. The odds are about the same as Rovers building a new stadium in the next 5/6 years You didn't say that the species of the female has to be human.... Have the odds decreased? I think the odds on finding a beautiful 25year old female camel are pretty thin. If I were you I'd do what Henbury does and put a bag over its head!

I just do not believe our tight-pursed owners would be spending the amount of money they currently are on the Mem if they have a real plan to move elsewhere. I also don't believe they would be spending that money on the Mem if they had a plan to knock it down and rebuild it. I do believe that they are willing to give DC enough money to get us into a top 6 place. Where that leaves us if we get promoted, I don't know. Shoot me if you must, but it's just my thoughts. Re the Mem redevelopment I assume BCC have to "support" this summer's redevelopment even if it is only sticking up a few temp. stands? How can our owners be "tight-pursed" when they've spent up to £15m on the club and look like spending another £2m this season, even if they aren't spending money like we hoped they would they've spent more money than any previous owners. Plus Sticking up 2 new temp stands is hardly spending a great deal of money on the Mem as I assume the stands can be returned/sold on if we ever leave the Mem. I was under the impression that the new stands are made to measure so I'm not sure if they have any resale value? Be great if they do.

An interview in Sports Management magazine is hardly talking to the fans. How many fans are likely to read it? An interview that contains no quotes about the new stadium and is a rehash of what was said in the evening post If it is, then I've missed the interview with the evening post. Last I heard on the whole situation is that Mem redevelopment was the only option being explored.

Frustrating though it may seem, the fact that we have official confirmation that the current "development" is NOT the redevelopment of the Mem is really good news IMO. The reason being is that I was genuinely worried that it might be...
It is also good to see improvements to the Mem, as there has been shockingly little changes since we moved in all those years ago.
Clearly, we are still the old Bristol Rovers and not some new shiny Mega-Evolution Bristol Rovers on route to the Prem. Until we get some proper news regarding our future, we have to do what we have always done and take things one season at a time. The only hope that we have is the same old hope that we are used to. Hope that we can achieve against the odds. Hope that the football gods can look upon us favourably and deliver us promotion.
We certainly have the right manager, and we don't know enough about the new players to form an opinion. We just have to hope.
I hope the owners have a plan and the means to grow the football club. In the meantime, all we can do is hope that they continue to cover the historically high (for us) levels of debt that we are currently experiencing. The annual losses are mind blowing.

The Bristol Post had an interview with Starnes as he joined us. It was posted on this forum at the time. This thread is just repeated what was said back then!
Here are the bits he said abut the Mem. Talking about the facilities. The new CEO has put the record straight about the Memorial Stadium development work. Widespread confusion reigns over the Bristol Rovers stadium plans following the collapse of their deal to build a new ground in partnership with UWE last August. However Starnes has gone some way to clarifying the club’s short term strategy and how the recent renovations at the Memorial Stadium fit into the grand plan. He only started his new role at Rovers last Monday, while building work has been taking place since early May to the main club bar, the shop, the pitch and have created a new small canopied family stand with seating. Starnes said: “I had no material input in the projects before arriving because Tom Gorringe, our commercial director, had already set sail with those, which I was very supportive of. So when he showed me around after I had been offered the job, the plans had already been drawn up but the work had not started. And I thought this is very good and the right way to go so I was very supportive and pleased with what has been done so far and there is more to do.”After the proposed stadium move fell through last summer, club president Wael Al-Qadi said if a new location could not be secured, a plan to develop the Mem "stand by stand" would be drawn up. With some of the most significant building projects for years currently underway at the Mem this summer, many questioned whether this was indeed the first step to that second option. However, Starnes has put the record straight about Rovers plans. He explained: “The work going on at the Mem right now is not the discussed development of the stadium. This is to try and improve what we have got while we try to develop a long-term plan. We are investing in this stadium in the interim, in a relatively small way, to hopefully try and make some major improvements for fans. So it is a relatively small investment to get a good return in terms of match day experience. I think quite understandably previous owners have said we are not going to spend any money on the stadium because we are going to move, and they were much further down the line I guess with Sainsbury's and the student lets projects, but all those have fallen through. We decided you can only wait so long before doing some basic maintenance and improvements and a decision was made prior to me joining, that now is the time to bite the bullet and certainly make some improvements. The sort of things that we are doing now, to improve the shop, to improve the bar, there is a little more of that to do, a small stand, but there is nothing major at the moment."replace with make more money

You must be basing your expectations on the Paul Buckle "measurement of expectation" formula. He ad is us all to set our sights lower I seem to recall. He probably interfered with Andromidories as well, the dirty little git.
