But surely, under your personal forward planning criteria, stated so often on this thread, we should be providing / spending on a "contingency plan" in case it does happen??🤔🤔🤫 There is a Treaty in place. I am pretty sure that the French will give adequate warning if they wish to scrap that Treaty, as it also affects their people working in the UK, checking people going to France. Don't forget, it's a two-way thing. Once again, this is nothing to do with the EU, so why are you wetting your pants about it? or is this just another scare story that has no substance to it in reality? We are walking away from a Treaty, probably, at the end of October. And chucking money at the consequences (potential or real). If France walks away from this Treaty we cannot stop them. Given the febrile nature of our relationship if we go under a no deal, surely under your preferred method of forward planning we should allow for contingency costs? Surely?

The same as always, Border Checks. At the moment, they happen in France, and the French have their own Border Checks in the UK. It saves time and effort to turn people away before they attempt to land on the other side. Nothing to do with the EU, and I'm surprised that it has even been brought up. Remainers must be getting desperate for stories. Interesting though that it is something the UK can do whilst inside the EU, that is um nothing to do with the EU
Who would have thunk it

We will have quite enough of this "finking" malarkey. Please adhere to the new norm of single word, monosyllabic, answers. Like, "do you want to shoot yourself in the foot?" The new norm is "Yes" Anything more is deemed arrogant and elitist.

Having driven through Dover, Folkstone and Calais a few times, I would hesitate to say there were French customs. i'm going again at the end of November, I'll let you know if I experience any difference.

Yes, of course. I stand corrected. Thank you.

Be careful. Under our wonderfully liberal and open minded Home Secretary, Pritti Patel, as a Remainer you will be deemed a dissident after October 31st. As such you may be made stateless and returned to your deemed country of origin. (Please note, where you were actually born has no relevance in this administrations mind)

On a linked note, there is a good chance she won't be Home Secretary by then anyway.

Hello William our old friend You have come to talk with us again Because of a vision softly creeping Left its poison whilst you were sleeping And the vision that was planted in your brain Still remains Within the sound of Brexit In restless dreams you walked alone Narrow streets of cobblestone 'Neath the halo of a street lamp You turned your collar to the truth, cold and damp When your ears were stabbed by the sound of truthful verse That split the night And touched the sound of, Remainers And in the naked light you saw Ten thousand lemmings maybe more People talking without speaking People hearing without listening People writing words that voices never share All too scared To Disturb, the sound of populism "Fools, " said I, "You do not know Populism, like a cancer, grows Hear my words that I might teach you Take my arms that I might reach you" But my words, like silent raindrops fell And echoed in the wells, of silence And the people bowed and prayed To the populist god they made And the sign flashed out its warning In the words that it was forming And the sign said, "The words of truth are written in austerity halls And food bank stalls And whispered in the sounds of ignorance.

It's a sad day when people use taxpayers money in an attempt to deny those same taxpayers their democratic decision.

It's a sad day when people use taxpayers money in an attempt to deny those same taxpayers their democratic decision. Totally agree. Unfortunately, we have too many people in this country who refuse to accept democracy and will use any means necessary to selfishly impose their own minority views on everyone else. btw for anyone concerned I pay plenty of UK tax and have done without interruption since leaving full time education although what relevance that has I'm not sure? I guess if the amount of tax paid determines the right to opinion then the referendum votes of the sick, unemployed, housewives, students shouldn't have counted !!!!!
