Question Time tonight......a complete panel of Remainers. Not one single Leaver there. It is high time to end the Licence Tax. The BBC is no longer a neutral broadcasting service.

More people voted for pro-remain/second referendum parties in this election than pro-Brexit ones actually. FPTP gave us a Tory majority and so that's the end of that. I'm laughing though because theres nothing better than someone digging up old posts for a dig and embarrassing themselves!

So back to BREXIT. Johnson wants to enshrine in law that we leave by the end of December 2020.
I 'understand' why he want's to do this, but I assume he won't want to break the law if a Trade deal was delayed by say 3 weeks

The claims of what would happen straight after a Leave vote? To recap: 6% drop in GDP, Stock Market collapse, emergency budget to fill a 50 billion quid 'hole' in the economy, house prices crashing by up to 18% and 800,000 job losses. In reality none of that transpired, not a single one, so is this one of outcomes measured against claims and statements, or do we just ignore this, y'know, forget about it. The claims and statements went both ways, so we should look at both sides to get a measured opinion.

I agree in principle, but I thought we already agreed, all of us regardless of our position, that the claims made by both sides before the referendum were stupid. But, we haven't fully left yet. I think the true measurement of the impact on our economy will be in the years 2021 to 24. If it's all sunny uplands Johnson and his supporters can crow and be elected with an even bigger majority. If not and it's a grinding, turgid, mediocrity, a perpetual skirting with recession resulting in a lack of funds for public services...well we all suffer. But Johnson will still get elected because immigration will crawl to almost nothing and that, in no small measure, is what people voted for in 2019. Let's see what actually happens, and judge Johnson on his rhetoric and performance

If there are vacancies in a particular sector, then there will be nothing to stop workers coming to the UK to fill those jobs. What makes you think otherwise?

So this is what Johnson freed from the yoke looks like.
Turns out he is not very moderate at all. By all accounts it seems nigh on impossible to organise a trade deal by the end of 2020 without big concessions and it is thought he is not interested in a close relationship with Europe.
No deal seems as real as it has ever been. Still this is what the will of the people wanted. So buckle up.

Free movement of people eh? So why has Germany re-installed border checks on the German-Austria border? They've been in place for the last couple of years.
