Someone tweeted about fans moaning about a player before he even signs and Rhys Healey liked the tweet! Who says they don't look at social media etc before signing. Let's hope it does not put him off.

Have the club ever gone for your tip offs? Sounds like you do a lot of work for them. Do you pass on your tip offs to other clubs too? Genuinely interested. I don't think Rovers have gone for any of them, or the players haven't signed for the club if we were in for them. I think Dave Penney and Martin Foyle would have moved for 2 or 3 suggestions and wanted to meet me for a chat, but they were sacked a few days later and that was that! I've done bits and pieces for a non-league club years ago. They signed Jamie White, wasn’t he one of yours Wes ?

We should go for Fraser Hornby at Everton a target man who has recieved loads of tuition from his idol big Dunc. Highly rated by Everton youth coach Paul Tait (ex gas)
Much more what we need

An underwhelming signing, just like Taylor, Bodin and Gaffney all were at the time The difference being they were all permanent signings with a commitment to Bristol Rovers - not someone else's player who we'll be expected to give game time to and who could well be going back in January. I'll stick with a totally underwhelming signing - not even Poundland and going on DC's past history with loan signings - Telford, McBurnie, Roberts et al we won't be seeing much of him. Do we know it's a loan signing?

Reported reluctance, but we don't know everything that goes on. I realise I'll get lambasted for this but: 1 He isn't here yet 2 If he does come he is highly thought of by his own club 3 The transfer window has not closed yet 4 We have made some good signings this Summer, all permanent moves, albeit in areas other than up front. 5 We haven't actually played a competitive game yet. But we've banked at least £750K from the sales of our two strikers and look like getting a loan player in with v. limited Div 1 experience to replace one of them who, should he turn out to be a good signing, will return to his parent club in January or next summer, how is that evolution. Whilst poster like you accept the situation we'll keep on getting taken for mugs by our owners, who've somehow turned into Nick Higgs and have now stopped any noticeable spending on the club. I refer the honourable Gentleman to point 3

Haven't posted for a while but been updating on the forum for news... Not sure its good for my health! It amazes me the amount of negativity sometimes displayed on here. Been supporting Rovers for longer than is good for me and we have never been a big spending glamour club. The thing that always united us was our passion and the support we give ALL our players. If we don't trust this manager heaven help us if the negative vibes push him away! This is as good as it gets so get behind whoever pulls on the famous quarters and be proud to be a gashead!

Let's hope it does not put him off. He's another checking his phone every 12 minutes! On a serious note though i'm sure players do check up on forums so IF he is being lined up surely he deserves respect rather than ridicule.... If you were a player surely you'd be more fired up and excited if prospective 'supporters' were, well, supporting you?

Agreed Topper.
Also, are people really now moaning that people are moaning about players that haven't even signed for us??
Jesus wept.
Maybe we should never moan about any players ever just in case they ever sign for us in the future?

I refer the honourable Gentleman to point 3 Point 3 is irrelevant to getting Healy in on loan to replace Gaffney. Is he a loan? We've signed 5 permanents this summer if one of our forwards is a loanee I don't think that's a massive problem honestly. I know everyone is obsessing about forward replacements and I agree we need to get a couple in but if you look at our business over the summer, with two strikers, that would make seven, at least five of which are permanent. The signings we've made have looked good quality and improve our squad, frustrating as the forward situation is, the rest of the squad looks pretty decent, that's why I mentioned the transfer window.

You would hope so but I get the feeling, if this rumour is correct, that we have exhausted other options and we are right down the bottom of the list already. We must surely have the most inexperienced strike force in the league. If we were to spend a bit of money this window on a proven goal scorer, we could be a force this season. We look a soft touch at both ends going into Saturday. If the board dont allow DC to spend the Ellis money on the squad then i fear there could be a few chants of "Wheres the money gone". Wael is a football man, surely he can see that we need some strikers that can actually score goals. FFS, i am actually fearing we have no goals in us at the moment. I think Bennet Rodman and sercombe can all get 10+ goals each if we get someone in who can hold the ball up and bring them in to play. With the attacking midfielders we’ve got who will hopefully be running in to spaces looking to receive and shoot we’re crying out for a strong forward with an eye for a through ball / smart lay off.

Absolutely my thoughts exactly.. I've been supporting from 1970 onwards. I don't post often here any more purely because of the negativity. You've made some very good points in your post that certainly rings true for me...

How does the defence look decent? Plenty of players but not many who are up to the job or fit enough, as last Saturday highlighted

Agreed, I honestly think Nicholls will score double figures this season.

Agreed, I honestly think Nicholls will score double figures this season. Serious question, on what basis? He's played v 3, or at least 2, Div 2 teams already and all he's done is miss an open goal.
