The Crawley game is £1 for kids.
After a good World Cup, you would think the marketing dept would be contacting every scout, cub group, cricket club, football club, diversity group, etc etc with a youth set up in a ten mile radius to advertise the fact.
We could potentially have 7000 "more" spaces available in the home areas and if advertised well could attract quite a few more away fans. It is during school holidays after all.
No, we just close two sides and expect 2000 attendance. Tom, this is not Brighton or the Checkatrade. We support the club and will attend. If we market it right and we beat Stanley, there WILL be 5000 plus.

Agree with this. We are shockingly bad at attracting kids and this would be an ideal opportunity to do so.
City are wiping the floor with us on and off the pitch and we have to work even harder than most clubs to attract youngsters from Bristol as a result.
I'm interested to know the reason for closing half the stadium too. I presume there is a financial reason behind this but it does make for an odd atmosphere which just may be counteractive to our attempts to progress in the competition.

The closing of certain areas of the ground is slightly annoying from a nostalgic point of view. I used to enjoy the quieter evening games where you had plenty of space, it felt a bit mellower than league games. But if the plan is to fill to capacity half the ground then that vibe is lost. I know it makes sense from a business point of view so I can't grumble with the reasoning, it's just another thing we just have to get used to I guess....

I was shopping in Bristol today, I counted four City shirts and no Rovers ones on children, even spotted two boys in them in a mendip pub early evening yesterday, the quarters are fading with the younger kids, my eldest wears them proud, the youngest is another matter!

The atmosphere is better with less stands being used and also makes financial sense. Agree with this one.

Good point, it should be 'almost quid a kid' but not quite....

In 15 years time they will blow us out of the water.
My area used to be a reasonable 50/50 mix with kids supporting both teams.
Now all my lads mates are all Sh1!heads because when they ask to go to their first live game their parents comapre the level of football and THE GROUND.
The Stadium of sh**e is light years ahead of our dump.
Every kid leaves there with a shirt and at the very least a causal allegiance to the Teds.
Once all these shithead kids between 6 and 10 grow up we are going to be a distant memory.

city did a free coaching session in my village last week. Granted I live south of the river, but it was free, had 6 coaches and was 4 hours long. Over 80 kids attended and they all loved it....

So even letting kids in for a quid is now something to moan about. What the hell is going on with our fans this year. This really is getting rather painful.

Putting up with that dump they call a stadium, it is a disgrace and a embarrassment, no signs of a training ground, no news a year after the landing lights at UWE failed. Striker after striker not being replaced. A club unable to get a kit deal to allow kits to be sold before the season starts. No quarters anymore and having to listen to that fool Hamer on commentry on the radio.

These are a few of my favourite things.. Masochist ! Can you list some more!! Playing Nichols alone, upfront. Queuing too long and paying too much for a sausage roll you don't need. Programme folk not being replaced. Employing a defence coach for the first time (as Yatesy migrated to that position) and we concede a sloppy goal within 60seconds of season starting that we were conceding for fun last year! It's all hilarious..
