True, but I’d like to think he Alex scores 15+league goals we will do ok. I don't want to sound like Paul Buckle or anything, but your expectations of the lad might be a bit high.

Well, we're a selling club, and operating at a loss. I'm just pleased that some of the money got reinvested. Could and should have invested more if you ask me. If it's true and we are getting the fee in instalments. Might see some more invested in January.

Quite agree with you, we are only as good as our team and it seems the management and owners are happy with not spending money. Been a Pirate since early sixties unlike some on here tell me I am a sh**. I have opinions as well if they do not agree that's their problem.

You don't half crack me up Pirate. How many times have you hoped we'd sign a player from the 8th tier of the Mongolian league, yet we sign a tested player and you don't approve, you didn't approve of the Walsall player either. It looks like you're upset because you didn't tell us all about them first.

I give up on the manager, chairman and owners what a shambles this transfer market. Sold players but refused to sign players of same quality. Who the F##k is payne, a no one, desperate signing and the other one from Watford not worth a mention Management and owners you keep looking after yourselves. I used to have respect for the manager but that's now gone. Good luck to you Gas but I am finished with you now, please send them back to Jorden were they belong and tell them to bury there heads in the sand as always. The Anchors. F**k off to Trashton Attack the post, not the poster. Ban please mods. Oh...😗

A guess a loan is better than nothing and he may possibly be a little better than Telford but I don't think you'll see the shed-load of goals from this lad that some are expecting.
Don't think we done that well on the striker front to be honest.

If you've been one that long why are you seemingly getting so wound up, I'm starting to think Wael has been taking advice from NH & BB, as we now seem in exactly the same position as we've been for decades. Selling our best players and then getting cheap ones in as replacements, whilst spending the bare minimum on the ground. It's mystifying why we didn't sign Telford, who seem to have real potential, but are taking a chance on another loan player.

Time will tell, but the questions for me are: Is Stefan Payne an improvement on Ellis - is Gavin Reily an improvement on Rory Gaffney and is Alex Jakubiak an improvement on Dom Telford - the only improvement IMO is the Club's bank balance. Are these signings moving the Club forward - I think not - I hope I'm wrong. Good questions. EH was bad timing. No real suspicion people were sniffing around. Hard to plan around that. Not easy to replace. My feeling so far is that it's unfair to expect Payne to be an improvement on EH, that Reilly could well be an improvement on Rory (bit of a gamble), and that given the lack of impact Telford had (rightly or wrongly) Jakubiak can't really be a backwards step. Fair to assume EH and Rory were quite high earners, although 2 new lads could be as well.

Amused by some negative comments about our transfer dealings in this window.
THD will be a good signing once fit and ready to go. Upson will strengthen our defensive midfield. Rodman will strengthen our attacking midfield. Matthews got a hell of a lot of potential and will be a big player for us. Reilly is an unknown for me but looked good vs Exeter and sounded good vs Peterborough. Jakubiak will want to prove himself and will be hungry to prove to Watford he is ready. Payne scored as many goals as Harrison last season and was in the side that got Shrewsbury to 3rd (top 2 most of the season) and to the play off final. And bare in mind he was on the bench for half the season!
How anyone can moan about this to length of saying they wont go anymore is pathetic.

Don't think we done that well on the striker front to be honest. Think today has pulled it back to acceptable. Still got loan window, lone to buy option, free agents, and engineered free agents (like Craig & Bennett). And maybe even a surprise from within, be that a certain player who surely can't make less impact than last season, or younger players coming through.

What a welcome to the club to someone whom hasn't been given any sort of a chance by yourself and written off barely before the ink has dried!? Sir, we are and have mostly always been a selling club. That's it. Simples. Like it or not, tis fact. Another fact, so is the other club over the river some of my more direct brothers and sisters are suggesting you set your departure to. You profess to support the club since 1967. Fine. When in your lifetime have we been anything other than a successful selling club with either buying in or producing youngsters for vast profit? We are the Gas. It don't smell too good to visitors or folk not used to this, but to me it smells just fine. We've had a remarkable turnaround historically of selling good products of players, there is usually a gem around the corner and that's a testament to the hard work behind the scenes. Alex for us may be the next Tammy Abraham for them. If so, re look at your post and wonder whether you have actually learned anything since 1967? Or maybe just carry on as you are, eh? Upto you.. UptheGas!
