I went in at 2.35 after the football had finished in the bar. No queue at turnstiles and quicker to get through. Vast improvement

Turned up at 2:50 - it’s usually rammed. Walked straight in.

I went in about twenty to three, and tried my Sainsbury's loyalty card, and try as I might, it wouldn't let me in. After about fifteen minutes there was a massive queue behind me. It's just not good enough!

It's just not good enough! You were robbed - my nectar points card worked perfectly. PS. I think I received 100 new nectar points too.

FFS can't we get anything right? The only thing I could do was laugh as the guy watched me beep my card at the machine before pressing a peddle to let me through! Bring your tools Monday and sort them out then Einstein. Unbelievable moaning about turnstiles. I bet your the type to go to a Michelin star restaurant and moan that your food wasn't filling enough. I thought the scum were bad at moaning not us I wouldn't know anything about Michelin star restuarants, but I can see how my post came across as moaning. I just found my entry to the ground pretty hilarious and wondered what other people thought. Maybe I'm alone in seeing the irony?

No, I'm with you, and started off agreeing with you, but the rest of thread changed my mind. If everyone gets in a lot quicker and with less hassle and there's no fraud, then that's got to be a win. Having said that, it is kinda incredible that we need to have our electronic turnstiles manned. I didn't believe it when people were mentioning it earlier in the week. On the face of it, it's mental. But if it is a decent improvement on a number of issues (if not all of them) then that's ok. Still not sure why we couldn't have fully automatic ones, though. I imagine they did a cost/benefit analysis and worked out it would be cheaper to keep the old ones manned. The question is, how many years did they project that for? That would be interesting to know.

Not entirely sure why people were expecting premier league standard turnstiles?
Surely the cost would've been ridiculous. The Mem isnt exactly the most secure of venues either to be installing state of the art electronic systems. Not to mention (dont laugh) the idea of us moving on. Why spunk a shitload on turnstiles when it would probably not be viable to transfer them to a new stadium.

Also, I'm really happy the majority found entry easier and I do applaud this positive change.

I had the feeling we’d be seeing fully automated turnstiles soon.
Given the paranoia over the introduction of these things and as a training exercise (for fans on how to use the cards) it seems a sensible step.

It was maned because so many tards would get confused Perhaps it would have been better for the turnstile operator to be hidden from view behind a screen giving the impression of a totally automated, computerised, state of the art system. A bit like cashpoint machines - everyone thinks they are all electronic when in fact there is a bank clerk sat behind it pushing tenners through a little slot.

I'll have a pint of what you've been drinking if you're being serious, automated turnstiles would cost thousands per turnstile, which would be all dead money when they are eventually knocked down.

There's no reason why you can't get decent kit and move it when the time comes?
