Because DC signed the player's. He knew what our SMCP was, as we had to apply in June. He decided to sign players like Upson and Rodman on decent wages, when other positions were priority really. Other teams said they couldn't match our deal for Rodman. Just a question for you, what exactly are these decent wages you say Rodman and Upson are on? Do you know or is it an ‘educsted’ Guess? Bennet is apparently on £6,000 a week which I hope is not the case and just rumours tripled. After all, our owners are not supposedly backing DC but this is serious money we are talking about here for lower league footballers of limited ability. I’m not ITK and have no idea in reality but I’d be extremely surprised if anyone is on £6k per week at the Gas. My gut feel is that our higher earners are on problems half that at most with the bulk of the experienced squad probably on c£1-2k per week at most. In terms of team, our biggest problem is that at the moment we have too many of the team underperforming all at once. We can carry one or 2 but when in a game it’s 5 or 6 then we are bound to struggle. Nichols has actually been really unlucky so far and is not playing anywhere near as bad as people are making out. Upson has played ok for most games but struggled Saturday and Rodman has been inconsistent. We’ve also not had the rub of the green much coupled with some shocking Refs. This team WILL come good. They are short of confidence but when we start to click we will rapidly climb the league. Too many knee jerk reactions so far this season. I could understand it if we had played 15 games and were where we are but it’s really early days. My team for Plymouth would be Bonham Kelly Craig Broadbent assuming J Clarke is still injured Leads Bennett Upson Lines Clarke Matthews Payne 4-5-1 / 4-3-3 when Matthews and Bennett push on Smith, Rodman, Reilly, Jax, Nichols, Russe, Morgan on the bench

Rodman was wanted by many clubs at this level and atleast one manager said that they could not match our offer. Just assuming Upson would be on an average league 1 wage. No matter how much they are being paid, we seemed quite strong in the middle already. DC said himself we are at the limit for SMCP. So he knew that and decided what areas needed strengthening. So we can't just blame the board.

4-4-2 No one out of position Attacking full backs. That’s what DCs success was built on
Bonham
Leads Broadbent Craig Kelly
Clarke Lines Mathews Bennet
Payne - Watford lad or Reilly

When we needed a defender or 2 DC brings in 2 midfielders. Why?

That’s what DCs success was built on Bonham Leads Broadbent Craig Kelly Clarke Lines Mathews Bennet Payne - Watford lad or Reilly Wouldn't be against this. The most difficult position is up front. I haven't got a scooby who is the best out of them yet so finding that the hardest position to pick. I actually think Nichols has picked up so far this season but again to little avail. Jakubiak and Reilly have shown promise. Payne's gone off the boil a bit for me. I like Jakubiak's close control and Reilly will harass the opposition. I would definitely like to see Reilly at some point as he looks like he could at least press and give the opposition a hard time. Wouldn't like to see all 4 on Saturday at some point, to get more of an opinion on them.

Perhaps he was unlucky once v Southend but then again he did have an open goal to aim at but still hit the bar!

Don't get me wrong, no disrespect intended to Burton but I would hope we would be able to sign players over them. It's not like a big team like Sunderland have came out and said we outbid them.

Most clubs are not going to say it though, are they? Craig came from Millwall, so will probably be on an average league 1 wage. Lockyer was given a new contract. Upson you would have thought would be an average league 1 wage. I'm not saying we are good payers. Somewhere in the middle probably. The point I was making was, if the budget was spent more wisely, we could have got a commanding centre half. Instead we have loads of midfielders. DC new his budget, so we can't just blame the board.

Hardly lol It was a volley, from the edge of the area, with 2 defenders and the keeper to beat. It was a good effort. He has missed easy chances in the past, but let's not make up crap. Forced keepers into some good saves as well this season.

Don’t get me wrong, he’s had some shocking misses as well but he’s made out as if he can’t kick a ball and that he puts no effort in. I think he’s had quite a few on target and he’s played some good link up play and his movement has been alright allowing others to get goals. I don’t buy into the philosophy that a forward should be judged on goals alone - it’s all round play and movement etc and I’d rather have a team that scores 60 goals and they are shared around the team than one that scores only 20 but it’s scored by one forward (extreme example but you get my drift)
