Not been on here for a couple of days so without going through every post I'm not sure if this has cropped up before. Doidge loaned to Bolton with option to buy for 7 figure sum when window reopens. Does this not render the transfer window a complete waste of time?

And thatโll be why we never signed him. Out of our league, literally, unfortunately.

Statement by FGR owner Dale Vince, weird one this...
From Monday morning, Christian Doidge is back with FGR. We've taken the decision to recall him after his loan agreement expired last week amid continual contractual breaches by Bolton Wanderers.
It became clear to us that Bolton entered into a contract to loan and then buy Christian last August without the means to honour it, and perhaps the intention to do so as well. They haven't even paid his wages for the last four months (we have).
It's not just FGR that have been let down badly by Bolton, but Christian too.
Bolton's Chairman, Ken Anderson, made a lot of promises on the last day of the transfer window, both to Christian and FGR, and has kept none of them. This is all his work and from talking to Ken he feels immune from the consequences - but some of these promises are written in legally binding contracts, and we'll be pursuing them.
When the dust settles, we'll talk to the EFL about how they regulate clubs like Bolton. They already regulate the club to a degree, controlling all TV monies to make sure that football debts get paid. Hard not to wonder whether the league could also have a role in approving the terms of any contracts entered into - to make sure that they are actually within the means of the club. We had no way to know, but the EFL should have the inside view on that.
And finally (for now...) - Disappointing as it is to see this go pear shaped, both for FGR and Christian, I'm also excited by the prospect of the second half of the season with Christian back with us. I'm sure all FGR fans everywhere will join me in welcoming him back ๐

Iโm taking it heโs already played for 2 clubs this season so canโt play for a third? He didnโt get on too well at Bolton so he could be available in the summer.
Feel sorry for the lad, thought heโd secured a dream move only to be messed around by higher forces.

Like getting a Ferrari on PDP then not paying will it still be in puckle on my drive 4 months later please forward answers to vegan pies Nailsworth. ๐

Never a championship player in a million years. More likely they Bolton wanted to pay over a million years ๐๐ oztumer not playing regularly let's get him here he would be a cult hero, unlike Robbie Ryan carl Regan and Mark Wright where the spelling was a tad different.๐

Fascinating statement, never seen anything like that before.
So Bolton have a player on loan and never pay his wages!! Surely FGR should have refused to have paid his wages.

Bolton have a transfer embargo as the PFA has had to pay wages,so they have a football debt. There are some players who are now not registered to play for them. The club is in a mess, it wouldn't be a surprise to see them in administration soon.

Iโve seen the post on Facebook. Bolton fans are disgusted with their owner and want him out the door. Many labelling him a conman and fraudster.

Bolton are a Banned word club, like Bournemouth. Weren't they 100million+ in debt and their previous owner wrote it off?
I know he isn't popular round here but fair play to Dale vince on this one. It's water poor conduct from Bolton- entering into deals they can't afford. Put them in administration and have done with it.

Public knowledge that Bolton are in difficulty. Surely someone at the EFL could have flagged a potential issue even before the loan started, only flagged now, after the event ?
