FGR even without Doidge are looking good for promotion to L1 - even more for Gasheads to grumble about. I wouldn't say they're "looking good for promotion", they have a chance but there's currently 5 teams better placed than them and 2 on the same amount of points. They're not 4 points clear at the top or anything.

Your opinion fair enough. I’m certainly no admirer of the way Bournemouth have done things but round about the same time there were many clubs caught out for breaking the rules, Fulham, Notts Forest, Bolton and I think Millwall. They didn’t avoid accountability as they paid a fine of just under £5m I think. They do have a choice live by your means or not. But like most clubs, Rovers included, they did not live by them, were penalised and fined. And to say that they “mugged off” all the other clubs in the championship is way off. To say Leeds, Sheffield Weds, Derby and many other bigger clubs with huge grounds and gates couldn’t compete with AFCB “honourably” because they broke the rules is really laughable. To say that the club doesn’t have a clue about what operating within their means is just wrong. It’s just “their means” include a very rich Russian who, unlike our owners, put his money into the club and allowed them to spend outside what the crowds would produce. Much as you obviously don’t like it, their story is a bit of a fairy tale although I see it as a bit like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory insofar as once they got into the PL they are one of the clubs who dont need a crowd as their income from being in the PL covers their costs. After the unsustainable losses they incurred in the Championship getting promotion was the Golden Ticket even if you don’t like it. Their story should give all teams hope that they could also “do a Bournemouth.” Now, if you had drawn attention to the comparisons and some of the things they did in League 1 when attempting to reach the Championship I might have agreed with you. Keith Hill at Rochdale and some other clubs had some very strong words and felt very let down by the EFL or whatever they were then due to what they thought were unfair dealings. That I could have agreed with but to try and argue that poor Leeds, Wednesday, Derby and other big clubs were mugged by AFCB is something else. Those clubs were out thought by a manager playing a brand of football rarely seen in the Championship at that time which blew all those clubs away. And it was the players that were in League 1 with AFCB that have been the revelation. 6/7/8 players are still there who were with them in League 1. Only Nathan Ake in defence is different from the league 1 defence although it will change a bit more now that Francis has had a season ending injury. Always respect your postings 365 and I agree with you over Bolton but whilst AFCB might have made a mistake, to equate them with a car crash of a club like Bolton is unfair. But as I’ve always said we all have opinions. UTG! Sorry, but it sounds like you are trying to defend the indefensible by encouraging everyone to get all dewy eyed about the brand of football that Bournemouth played as if that somehow makes it alright that they knowingly broke the rules in a cynical attempt to get to the promised land. It's pretty black and white- forget about the football they played are they guilty of knowingly breaking the rules- yes or no? And never mind everyone else having the hope they could 'do a Bournemouth', we are obviously different in that I don't condone cheating so I would rather 'do a Huddersfield or a Blackpool' who, as far as I am aware, got promoted to the Premiership through quality use of the transfer market using cheap signings and modest crowds. Certainly not trying to defend them, they were wrong and were fined like many clubs, and had you read the post you would have realised that. Please don’t imply that I condone cheating because I don’t. My original point was about you making a comment about Bournemouth being a “Banned word club.” That’s your opinion fair enough but Forest, Fulham and Millwall were also fined that season for similar offences yet they avoided your condemnation. Bolton have been sailing close to the wind for years. Bournemouth did it, were fined. Move on. We are obviously not going to agree and as this is a BRFC forum and not a AFCB one it is not Rovers-related we’ll just have to disagree. UTG!

What a strange individual. Can’t determine which chairman is a bigger knob, say what you like about Wael but at least he is modest.

Very strange and I guess the truth will be somewhere in the middle. Embarrassing for both clubs I would have thought. Vince will have seen his asset, CD, now being under priced perhaps after failing to score as many as Bolton would have hoped. And Bolton, if they have reneged on agreed arrangements, will see their reputation fall and be even worse than it has been. No one comes out of it well. UTG!

I don't like Vince nor FGR, but I think you have to have some sympathy for them. The player, and his agent, were probably adamant that they wanted the move to Bolton. In FGR's shoe's you really have to go along with that. Nobody wants an unhappy player as we all know. They thought they had a deal with Bolton. Not only have they lost their top striker for half the season, for which FGR have had to fund a replacement, but Bolton have obviously not been paying his wages to FGR!

Of all the clubs who have gone bust, been declared bankrupt, been wound up, placed in administration, fined by HMRC, and otherwise been very, very naughty football clubs, how many of them have emerged unscathed, if not more successful for it?
Almost all.
This could be the missing link in the 'but why are the Al-Qadi family still actually here?' speculation.
