The dressing room is now quite what? It was my phone dicksplit. Your phone was Ellis's ghetto blaster? 🤔

It was my phone dicksplit. Been on the forum since it's formation (and official forum before) and I think I can say that is the first 'insult' slash derogatory term I have received dicksplit lol! Well...you are welcome! Lol No offence ment, it was my way of calling you a prat for being alittle facetious due to my phones predictive text.👍

Unlike our lethal strikeforce today who, I predict, will get at least one shot on target in a gripping 0-0.

I hope he plays Sercombe in the middle instead of on the left of midfield and give Reilly or Jakubiak a start with Payne . That would be a good start to gaining my trust .

Your trust may have to wait then as Sercombe picked up a hamstring injury and won’t be back for 3 weeks at least. Agree with what you say though.

Not much our strikeforce can do if they have a load of donkeys behind them giving them no clear chances.

The point DC was trying to make is that we have lost a lot of 'character 'from the dressing room, it was clear to all that Ellis was an inspiration round the place with his wit and playful nature and this rubbed off on the likes of Kyle, sercs and co , Browner was also a chirpy , chippy lad to have about the place and the squad is missing there influence on and off the pitch, you look round the squad now and i dont see any body there to lift the spirits of the team and it is badly needed! over to you DC ! It is a concern that we don't really have either a leader or as many characters in the dressing room as we have had under DC. Lines should be that leader but he's too quiet. We don't look like a side with players that enjoy eachother's company at the moment. Hopefully that will come as we've brought in a lot of new players. At the World Cup it was clear we had an amazing team spirit and it took us a long way. Maybe a few days out for the players could help this?

I thought they had a jolly to Holland pre-season to build some team spirit?

It seems to me that it is quite possible that the players do not like the way they are having to play. That is the only thing I can think from the way players that obviously have talent are playing at the moment. I do not imagine that Stefan Payne had to play up front on his own at shrewsbury but that is what DC is asking him to do because even when Nichols plays he is not playing up trop0 in the box,he is playing in the hole same as when Bennett plays up there. We are not going to score many goals playing this way especially with Ollie Clarke and Upson providing the central midfield. It is like a team programmed to protect its goal rather than one that is going to get numbers forward. I doubt Rodman had to track back all the time either and let his full back do the attacking especially when the full back is not a good crosser of the ball. The best form of defence is to attack and take the pressure off the weak area of your team. Can DC change his tactics? We are going to have to find out or it will be a long hard season near the wrong end of the table. I agree with you, but he's protecting the goal because the keeper and defence have been so poor. Smith has been replaced, let's hope the other weak links in the defence get replaced too then maybe DC can pick a midfield that can support the forward players. Been saying it for ages now, all our problems stem from the back. As the 'great' Alan Hansen used to say regularly on MOTD 'you build from the back' We've had a problem in central defence for a few seasons now which DC hasn't addressed properly in my opinion. Craig was a decent stop gap last season but at 33 is not a long term solution. Would have expected getting in a decent CB would have been a priority this summer.

I think in the modern game any forward unable to play on his own up front needs to find something else to do with his life.

One of only a few words in the English language that contains all 5 vowels, each vowel appearing only once, and in the order that they appear in the alphabet.

My phone kept correcting 'Hyde' to 'Nude' yesterday, made traversing London challenging and sexy...

Your team is home on 0. You desperately need a goal. Or two. But one will win it. Your front two have started linking up, late in the game (on 55-60 mins).
...so you make a substitution, bring on a guy whom has scored 1 in 50 for the fella linking up with the big guy for first time this season...
And wonder about trust lost.
We looked the only team to lose it after. Awful awful substitution. Sent messages we were holding our hands up, and that's where we are.

Win by two clear goals and this thread gets shut?? Thread could be open for a while! Two clear goals? Maybe a little ambitious at the moment!

Reilly and Payne had linked well in the first half and for the first ten minutes if the second, but both were fading from the game before Nichols came on. Admittedly, I would have thought Jakubiak might have given us something else and therefore may have been a better bet that Nichols, but the substitution had to be made. The subsequent change of Matthews was also needed as we were being overrun down that side and he too had faded from the game. By the time Leadbitter was replaced by Broadbent we were hanging on and a point was worth hanging on to. I thought the changes were broadly about right today. Ironic though how DC always used to be criticised for not holding on for a point and now is getting it for making sure we didn't lose.

That's why we ended up with 0.
