Just tried buying 1 X adult and 1 X under 11 tickets for wallsall game in this stand but it only gives you the option to purchase adult tickets online? Anyone know why that is?

if the new family stand was doubled in size and a similar stand placed where the away terrace, away fans could then be given the South stand avoiding the need from loss of space through segregation, it would also mean that for the first time in the clubs history we would have a stadium that is covered. I know the stadium would look a bit tacky but do you think this is an options people would support baring in mind there appears to be no plans for a new stadium in the near future or money for major improvements to the mem.

You are jumping the gun here my friend; the ITK crowd are waiting to say "I told you so" when new owners/development plans appear in the next 5-6 weeks.

I sit on the edge of the so called corridor of power and have been told repeatedly that we are getting new owners, but of course that does not mean we will be getting a new stadium any time soon and are probably stuck with the Mem in its present form for the next 4 - 5 years at least. I don't know whether I can cope with looking across at the sad little family stand for that period of time.

The reason that the east terraces have never been covered, is that the roofs over them would block the view of part of the pitch, when sitting in some of the East Stand seats.
It's also probably the reason the the new family stand is as close to the Thatchers End as they could get it. The safety officer wouldn't let them put it behind the terrace, where it wouldn't have interefered with sightlines - but didn't leave enough room for safe operation of the pasty huts.
Stands larger than the present family stand, built on the terraces, are I suspect a non- starter because of the sightline issue.

You are right. It is the sight lines that prevent anything being built too close to the East Stand, and if you build anything on the flat bit above the terrace the East stand will be in your sight line

The problem is though, why did no one think of this at the beginning before they started selling season tickets for the stand?
Sounds like a watered down version of the Cheltenham fiasco all those years ago

Never thought I'd see the day, but work has actually started on the Colony. They've erected the first goalposts......

Sounds like a watered down version of the Cheltenham fiasco all those years ago Remember it well.Choose your season tickets for Cheltenham for two seasons whilst we re-build the Mem they said.'Why haven't you demolished the Mem? we enquired ,'to pave the way for the new build'. Lennie Lawrence said something about the players needing somewhere to meet up before games??? Official statement said that due to the economic situation it wouldn't go ahead after all. Would have been a few quid cheaper then!!!!!

Good thinking but theres no way the owners would allow the stadium to look "tacky".

But would the club be happy with the 1,000-2,000 cut in overall ground capacity for the bigger games?

Perhaps we need to be a bit more innovative. Perhaps move the boundary fence out a couple or so metres to accomodate the pasty huts (no big deal) - build a low rise modular construction stand to accomodate say 400 - try and retain most of the terracing. Look for up to a hundred supporters at a £1k up front donation each, in return for a season ticket in the stand for maybe four years (sort of debenture). I'd be happy to donate my £1k - (maybe £2k for two seats). I'm sure we are going to be at the Mem for at least that timescale. Could be a sort of model to get supporters to buy into the club - not necessarily what I'm saying here but just an idea. The plan being, leaving at least 75% of the stand available to supporters to buy season tickets or pay on the day at full price. Over to you Mr Gorringe!!

Are the goal Posts the same height at both ends? Yes, they are the same height both ends, but the ground may not be so.
