In a way i think payne was a panic buy,we lost harrison but the owners didnt really want to use very much of the the harrison fee at all so we ended up with payne. A lot of people talking about the owners not wanting to spend the Harrison fee but wasn't the deal with Ipswich for them to pay in installments? In which case there couldn't have been much money initially to be re-invested. Of course you could argue that we shouldn't be accepting bids for players where we receive the fee's in installments, especially when it was essential that we got a replacement before the impending deadline.

Genuine question - £600k 'ish' wasted on three Strikers - Nicholls - Payne & Mensah? Genuine question over 1 million made on three Strikers - Harrison -Taylor- Bodin? Yep - and now we have a big problem - they've been replaced and eventually the owners may have an extra £400k in the bank - good business? Taylor - Nicholls Bodin - Mensah Harrison/Gaffney. - Payne

You don't feel we have a problem with Nicholls and Payne? - and Mensah's gone. Mmm. With respect Blueridge life isn't a bowl of cherries as much as we would like it to be. If you look at the top teams in the Prem they have all had their problems over recent seasons and they have fortunes to spend. Even Man City took many seasons for their work to bear fruit. Life has its problems and we overcome them by thinking and acting positive and not by focusing on the negative. You like myself can take the role of amateur journalist on here because we are not in a position where it is our responsibility so we have two options, the positive and the negative. To moan or positively support the team. I'm sure today there are plenty of supporters like you who focus on the negative at Man Utd, but the manager like DC cannot afford the luxury of being negative unlike us amateur journalists.

Wael has probably spent all the Harrison money on the Euromillion lottery tickets for tonight. I probably would in the same position..

I'd say Preston w/o Bodin for the entire season and Ispwich, w/o Harrison for 2 to 3 months have bigger problems than us at present as we can at least live in hope our strikers will turn the corner.

I’m guessing here but I’d bet Payne is carrying a niggling injury of some sort.

I'd be very surpised if we see Mensah again, another desperate signing. In what way was it a desperate signing? I thought it was an exciting signing not a desperate one personality.

I read somewhere that both of Paynes parents died recently. Funny how we all criticise ( and I admit to it too) but players go through things like the rest of us. When my mum died I had 2 weeks off work. when my missus ran off I couldn't be arsed to get out of bed, let alone go to work

Roll on January and get someone else in upfront.

Roll on January and get someone else in upfront. But if we're shopping in poundland what's the likelihood of improving things? We all know DC has lost three very good goalscorers in snake, Bodin and Harrison; Gaffney would walk into this team. At some point this policy is going to cost us. It's one in one out anyway, the only option will be sending a loan back.

Surely with the players that we have sold recently we could bring in a half decent option in January?

The problem is DC ain't got a clue about signing good players , the only exception to this is our keeper who seems to be a one man show keeping us alive but he is one signing amongst how many others that are crap , I would not trust him to sign a match all never mind another super striker who doesn't know how to score.
