The Steel structure is already there behind the Maple ad. Old rugger scoreboard also. Quick review by a structural engineer and we are good to go.

New giant screen? In your f u c k ing dreams!
I noted at the Gillingham game they've actually fixed the small score screen in the centre facia of the West stand. That was still working on Saturday, but the scoreboard screen to the side of the Tent End seemed to pack up part way through the game.
What a complete and utterly embarrassing shambles we are becoming. I wouldn't blame DC if he told the owners to stick their Job up their collective arses and walked out, I really wouldn't.

Come on, who on here would want a big screen showing the goals last Saturday? My guess is that it will go up as soon as we have won 2 on the trot.

It has been so long since they bought the screen that when it was finally installed they realised it was only a Black & White one.
Evolution not Revolution.

This will never happen. They have just put up a flower show tent for Christ's sake. The absurdity of any semblance of progression is chilling. We are literally a laughing stock with Steve Hamer telling the jokes. Our chairman is doing the commentary for God's sake. The chairman is doing the commentary. Let that sink in for a bit. The chairman is doing the commentary.

Appreciate it is symptomatic of what seems to be the general view of the owners at the moment, but why are we so bothered about a big TV screen?
Quite frankly, forking out any money for one would be way down the list of my priorities for the club right now. And if it is covered by sponsorship, all well and good...but hardly something for us to get upset about.

The fact that there was no score board working on Saturday probably helped to bring this thread back to life, it also really highlights the two issues with our owners/the club a lack of both communication and investment.

We do seem to have a bit of trouble running the channels. Maybe it'll help with the midfielders' vision. Or, well, if all else fails at least it might help with the volume of play

I do take your point about owners and tend to agree. That said, specifically about scoreboards, I've never really seen the point of scoreboards at football grounds. It's not that hard to keep score in our heads (although admittedly Saturday threatened to prove a challenge for a while!).

Yep, but Stafford Town who play in the totally amateur Staffs County League are also making impressive non-tented improvements. If I remember rightly when I went there in 2015 they were crowdfunding this work and it looks like they've managed it with their 500ish crowds. Sorry to bang on about this but this is the avenue we should be going down to cover the open terracing/replace the tents. Just needs those in charge to admit the obvious. - re: Stafford Town - I'm guessing this is a council funded facility?
