So, just to try and add some light heartedness to this rather dark place right now.
Usain Bolt has been on trial at Aussie A league side Melbourne, scored a couple in a PSF but was not offered a deal. He has since been offered a deal in Malta which he has turned away, i guess, because the league isn't high profile enough or the standard of football wasn't what he was looking for.
If you were DC and Wael looking for a marketing opportunity as well as injecting some pace into your side, would you take a look at him? Do you think he would be good enough? If you had a 32 year old forward/winger we would see them as past their best and yet I've seen a few clips online of his play and he has a bit of a soggy first touch but what he lacks in some departments he more than makes up in pace, agility and strength and could certainly cut it at a good level.
What is everyones opinion..??
And I am not saying we should sign him BTW.

No. Would make us a circus act and there is a difference between agility, speed and speed endurance etc. Yes he can run in a straight line, but what's he like at turning and running repeatedly etc. A lot of sprinters have sh** fitness. Plus I expect he would want a lot of money.

Scored a cracking goal the other day.
I’d give him a trial without doubt

Can we bury this deep on the dark web before OTIBs dribbling masses get hold of it
Preposterous
All we need is one of the six - eight current forwards to find the minerals to shoot ffs

I mean, surely a trial can't hurt right? If he's not good then he's not good, end of.

Definitely would. Fastest man in the world. Teach him how to position himself and deliver a good cross and jobs a good one.

Clubs giving him a trial is just taking a spot a youngster coming up in the game could of had it’s all a publicity stunt to make money for the club

For a marketing exercise it would give DC extra budget. Many would come to see the fastest man in the world, even if they weren't rovers fans.

It won't happen but the idea is not ridiculous. He's hardly going to play in the Premier League, is he?
L1 standard might be the pinnacle of his ambitions.
Ian Botham played for Scunthorpe. He was pretty poor, but he brought the crowds in.
I bet he wants a fair old whack in wages though. He's not going to turn out for £1000 a week.

The A League kicks off this week.

I remember watching Malcolm Macdonald playing for Luton Town. He would stand just over the halfway line, the ball would be thumped long, and SuperMac would outpace the defence and bang it in the net. And Usain Bolt is more than a second quicker.

Surely gotta better chance of scoring than Nichols? My 95 year old Nan with her 2 walking sticks has a better chance of scoring.

Watched him on tv playing at Old Trafford in the UNICEF match for the rest of the world team. It's not often you get to run as fast as you can in a straight line and around a few bends in a football match and therefore it showed his limitations. His finishing was poor as well and we already have Our Tom for that.
