Throwing abuse at our players won't improve anything, supporters ? should remember that we were playing teams like Barnet week in week out a few seasons ago. The fans should get behind the team in the hope that we will eventually climb the table. If you want to chuck abuse at anyone chuck at the opposition. The players need our support more than ever at the moment, if you are a true supporter that's what you should be giving.

I wanted to post something similar last night but in a more angry tone and probably would have included a few abusive words too. So I decided to sleep on it to help me remain calm so 1) I wouldnt get myself banned, 2) I wouldnt have to delete my account if I didnt get banned and 3) If I was more calm, others may be too and we could actually have a discussion without it turning into a slanging match!
So well done Henbury.
I completely agree. I was ashamed as well. I wanted to knock out some fans behind me last night. 1 person in particular and I dont give a flying chuff if that person is on this forum. The abuse this person was giving out towards our players was pathetic. A few of us was shouting back telling him to shut up. When Payne came on, before he even had the chance to run to his position, the bloke behind was shouting out loud "chuff off Payne you fat c..t". Bravo to that man (sarcastic tone). That really was the motivation that he needs from the so called 12th man! Then the fool was singing "wembley wembley" on his own seconds before Barnet made it 1-1 and then he immediately starting singing towards DC "you're getting sacked in the morning".
I get and understand the frustration when a simple pass gets miss-placed or a cross goes out of play. But this guy just never stopped shouting abuse towards these players. These players can here every word being shouted out and how will that help them on the pitch. The atmosphere has now gone toxic like it was in our relegation season to the conference. We are slipping back to that again. And some fans are aiming their anger in the wrong direction. There is something obviously going on behind the scenes which is effecting the manager and the team. Abuse towards the manager and the players during the games is just non productive and is just making the whole situation worse. Get behind the team throughout the whole 90 minutes and keep your anger to where it should be aimed or express your feelings on forums.
I wasnt at Barnsley when Payne responded to the fans in the wrong way. He has apologised. However he has been made the scapegoat and some fans dont want to let it go and move on. He has been accused of again responding to the fans last night on the pitch and he has since came out on twitter to deny this. But even if he has done this, I wouldnt blame him at all after what I heard aimed his way since the second he stepped on to the pitch last night. There is only so much a human can take.
I am still very much on DC's side. I am still very much supporting the players 100%. I am very much disgusted at the abuse aimed at players and the scenes at the end of the match is shameful.
Last night was a very dark day for me as a gashead. Not because of the result. I dont care about a cup game. We dont do well in cup games anyway. But our so called supporters were a major let down and seemed to have forgotten how to actually support the team. The performance wasnt as bad as how the fans reacted. Some need to take a good look at themselves. Unfortunately, they wont and the negative and toxic atmosphere will only get worse. This worries me as the only result from this is back to League 2 or worse and I will put the majority of the blame on a lot of our dumb fickle fans.

Well said, embarrassing reaction from certain fans. The thing is it feels like some are waiting for results like this to unleash it. Even in recent seasons of success, I've had pricks around me criticising every sub DC makes etc or moaning to get the ball forward quicker, then complaining when a forward pass is misplaced. Trouble is the second we are truly struggling it's their voices that are the loudest and it makes the club toxic.

Also agree with the OP.
I'm more depressed than angry to be honest. If there is any anger I think it should be directed at the board.
I've seen every match apart from Luton and I don't see a lack of effort. I feel at least 90% of the players are giving their all and as long as they continue to do so they'll get my support.
The problem for me is a lack of ability. DC has made some poor signings. With the exception of Bonham I don't think any of our summer signings are better than the players we already had at the club. I'm sure DC is disappointed with his transfer dealings, not helped by having to continually sell our best players and replace them on the cheap.
I've criticised players performances on the forum, at work or with family and friends but never shouted abuse to the team or individuals at a game.
This season does have a very bad feel about it. Everything seems to be going against us and it's hard to see how it's going to improve. However, bellowing expletives at players or the manager is not going to help.

The official attendance figure will never drop below the number of season tickets sold, as clubs count pre-sold tickets for attendance figures, even if a person doesn't attend. All clubs do this. So, even if only two thousand people turn-up, the official attendance will be (I'm guessing here) 4,000 as that was the amount of season tickets sold. or something like that.

Saddest part of last night was seeing an empty East stand and terrace. What was the plan for filling the ground last night for a cup tie in the greatest cup competition in the world? The atmosphere was rubbish.
If I owned Rovers, I wouldn't build a new ground until we could fill the old one! Our "fans" don't deserve much more than we get!
Football is so dominated by money these days, that we will just have to accept that L1/ L2 and the National League are where we will always be. As this is the case, not much more to be gained from watching football any more - give or take a few beers with mates!

Tbf I didn’t go but if I did - I’d have joined in and let off some rovers related steam! You pay your money and you get your say! If I wanted to join a load of happy clappers having a chat and being annoyingly optimistic then I’d join the toffs at Bath Rugby! Oh come along Bath! Yuck!

And people wonder why so many players won't sign for us. This fanbase can turn against you any second, and the club is in shambles with no leadership. Not even Browner escaped a few choice words after his decision to leave, despite his immense credit. You could give us a Championship budget and we'd still sign Payne again and again. Don't agree. We've been sh** for nearly a year. Everyone has a tipping point. I think we've been pretty patient. spot on,we must be the most patient supporters ever Why some people go though I just don’t know, one bloke beside me talking absolute sh**e all through the game and the bloke behind me well he was giving a running commentary and loved his own voice, slagging off Nichols before he even touched the ball,I bet he was gutted when he scored You know he you are..north end behind goal at top Belter

I’m surprised it’s taken this long really, and boy have we put up with some sh**! Personally I could never boo or get on the players backs but I can certainly understand all the frustration of being told fuckall for what seems like an age, leading to people booing. I still believe we can get out of this mess and that DC is still the man, so come on Wael FFS back the man in January. (If he’s still here!)

It could get a lot worse later. It feels like its the club vs the fans right now. Hamer will be on radio Bristol today from 6pm with Twentyman answering questions. If Hamer dont answer the questions then like I said, the anger from fans will get worse towards the club and as we seen last night, the anger was let out on the players which doesnt help. If Hamer sticks with everything has a confidential agreement in place then whats the point in him doing an interview because it will just wind up the fans.

I think the boos were justified. Fans have a right to voice their opinions. I also think people have a right to sing you're not fit to wear the shirt if they think players aren't putting their all in. I doubt it will make the players play any better, but fans are entitled to do the above. Where the line is crossed for me is swearing at players and getting nasty. By all means slag off their performance, but getting personal isn't on. I think that's near what I was getting at. I don't blame people for being human, no one should be extremely calm and collected after all that's been happening to us. Criticism and boos are to be expected. I just think that the timing, the frequency, the targets, the choice of words, etc... at least one of these things is often wrong, and I surely don't expect people to realize it at the heat of the moment, but maybe realize it when they get home. But no, some even call us snowflakes for thinking abuse is wrong somehow. My final point is that I don't think these kinds of fans are a small minority... they're a present minority, a considerable one, and when things are bad for the club, these people often help make a mess of things. Yes, our fanbase is big and proud and loyal, but there's this toxicity that always comes back and frankly... I'm just tired. Having to deal with on-pitch losses and this is stressful

People are angry atm about the Barnet game. Not sure what this interview will have to do with that. People are watered off about the league form, but Hamer was on HaG when our league form was just as bad. Either he does have something to say, which will be a bit of a coincidence, istm, or he won't have much to say, and people will go nuts. Coz when everyone says 'we just want communication' they don't really mean that. They actually want some sort of significant news. And I'd be surprised if we get that. So, istm, it's just going to be same-old same-old with an added dose of FA Cup disaster. And then people will lash out at Hamer for not telling us anything.
