As I’ve said previously, sacking DC would mean the owners dipping into their wallets. I don’t see that happening any time soon.

As I’ve said previously, sacking DC would mean the owners dipping into their wallets. I don’t see that happening any time soon. I think it's also that they must be aware of the backlash they would get. Darrell was still (rightly imo) being supported by the crowd after the game yesterday, despite the usual voices on Radio Bristol. That can't have gone unnoticed by the board.

DC means so much to this football club. More than any of the players. The owners need to be very careful with how they deal with the next couple of weeks. There are, and quite rightly so, big questions being asked about our future, due to on the pitch and off the pitch events, or lack of. What DC has also done, is call the board out on their lack of investement and made things public. If they sack him, it’s a hard task to sell the club to any prospective managers. The owners won’t be able to tell fibs to the next manager about a new stadium and training ground when our current manager has come out and told the truth.

I'm sure DC will be offered a deal with a severance package with a non disclosure clause. That will test his love of the club, take it and keep his head down or walk and spill the beans.

Do you honestly think it was fibs at the time? You don’t cost up a stadium and a training ground and then suddenly realise you don’t have the money for it. They knew they didn’t. The fact we aren’t even getting the training ground any time soon just shows how far off the mark they are. They had to keep hold of a very young, very promising manager that had brought success to the club after a series of disappointments while championship teams were interested in him. They’d have told him anything to keep him here.
